Ovi has the *potential* to be the best thing about the N97. Actually, re-reading your post it seems we totally agree;

Ovi is Nokia&#039;s biggest challenge of the last 10 years. If they get it right, they will keep their position as the number one smartphone manufacturer. Get it wrong, and they&#039;ll loose that dominance within 2 years.

Just one small point about iPhone dev. The tools provided by Apple to all iPhone developers are probably just about the best of any computing platform currently available. It&#039;s not just hype and good marketing. No amount of hype would generate 31,000 apps in less then 1 year.</description>
