I am willing to be wowedjust not ready to be wowed quite yet. I know it sounds great, it seems brilliant and it involves tech. I have worked with tech for long enough now to know the first time we do something monumental in advancement in tech, it fails. Then it takes two paths
1. Refinement - folowed by failior, followed by refinement, followed by a little more failior followed by something completely different that works a little worse but still works (beta max) (HD disks) and the list is huge.
2. scrap.
Still the journey is fun, the failior is blamed on bill gates which is always fun.

So how long till i get proven wrong and im wowed, AKA release of this tech?

Hi there. From what I gather, with the original Sixth Sense project, you don't hold the "phone" at all. You may wear it, as a headgear/necklace etc. When taking a picture, you make a square with your fingers - the device recognizes that geture and takes a photo.
The camera will not pop up when your texting, because you haven't made that particular gesture which activates the camera. There probably will be other pitfalls, but the beauty of sixth sense is that it will learn to anticipate and weed those out - integrating a natural symbiotic experience between real life and technology.

I do agree this sounds like an amazing possibility. Initially i see soo many posibilities. Then when i put on my business head, i see soo many pit falls. How about the phone is lifted to take a picture, but in reality your just adjusting it so the sun isnt glaring the screen! your busy texting, the cam pops up, takes a snap, in your haste and frustration, you send the pic to the recipient of the text and the phone is branded annoying.
Awsome posibility, so many possible pit falls for failior. do it yes, but be ohhh so careful in testing.
