How to: Replace camera lens cover for your Nokia N97

| August 17, 2009 | Comments (0)

The Nokia N97 has a major design flaw in its lens cover. Get a tiny bit of dust trapped in it, and it’s rendered useless. Worse, if that trapped particle is hard enough, sliding the lens cover will scratch your N97 so your pictures become tainted (particularly when flash is on)

  • You can attempt to prevent it from happening by perhaps laminating your N97 so it would never get the slightest bit of dirt.

If you’ve already got scratches over your N97′s lenses, Micky from NokiaUsers may have a solution for you. Replacing the N97 lens cover outright.

It’s the same self-harming lens cover so you may want to still check Ricky’s post out.

where do I get the replacement cover from, as I accidentally make more scratches when I was playing around with it…I tool the plastic ring around the lenses cover off and the slider bit but didn’t put the metal spring in properly so that scratched it a bit, luckily just over the flash but ideally need a replacement!

I asked my normal supplier but said can’t just get bit on it’s own!

    Thanks.
