It does say at the end quote: “Get thousands of apps for your N97 at Ovi store” so looks like a mess up!!

True, possibly a minor mistake in the marketing – though you’d think someone would be checking something like this.

There are thousands of applications on the Ovi Store if you count every downloadable app (albeit there are several repeats – 3rd to 5th edition versions), though NOT as the video claims, available for the N97.

Probably a case of the marketing people picking up the wrong number? What you’re seeing is content that’s been ‘approved’/tested for the N97. Overall, in the store, the ‘many thousands’ bit applies, across all devices, but most content has some limitations in terms of screen size, OS compatibility and so on.
