New Nokia N97 Firmware v30.0.016 Available according to Nokia
Nokia’s Firmware update checker says that the N97 has a new firmware available, v30.0.016.
But Nokia Software Updater and Over The Air update can’t find anything yet. But what we do know is that it’s coming soon.
I’ve somewhat lost hope in the firmware updates for the N97. Fingers crossed it lessens my frustrations with it (decrease the lag, lessen the crashes) but I’ve been waiting for that since V10.
What are you hoping for in V30? Has your network even let you make the move to v21?

Yea same here, NSU or OTA not detecting the update, maybe the guys at nokia want to create hype and tease the n97 users…. and then give the same old update with nothing but “bug fixes”… btw hoping alot frm this update as always =D

However if Firmware 30. comes or not, I do not know, I feel ripped through Nokia.
I even think Nokia ripped the whole world and ripp the world further.
Nokia admits that N9 was a failure but sell further the N97 for about 400 €.
400 € is a lot of money for a scrap device as Nokia N97.
For each advertising Measures Nokia sends an SMS message or e-mail, but not for an apology.
It would be enough if they would say, “Sorry for the inconvenience, we’re working hard to regain it very soon.”
Instead of repairing the errors of sold devices, Nokia is working on new scrap equipment. (see x-series or n900)
I would have expected from a reputable company,
1. immediately set off the sale of Nokia N97 and
2. the ones who had bought the unit, offer an exchange.
But not the same has happened.
I bought the scrap N9 for 600 € because Nokia and their paid journalists, the device had cheered as high. In reality, it is a fiasco.
I will never buy a machine from Nokia. This is not the first faul Device of Nokia.
There are other good devices now on the market (X10, HTC HD2, Dell Streak etc.) and come out the next super devices like HTC HD3. Nokia can plug in his scrap elsewhere.
That with the firmware 30. , I consider again a joke. What was the last firmware on all of us who had waited so eagerly? A flop.

Not having v30 available, still on v21, but mine works pretty nicely with it! It’s true that in the beginning it had far too many bugs. But now it’s quite ok and as my other Nokias (E75&N900) work perfectly too I have already made an order and waiting for N8. I’m also using other than Nokias but prefer N97 and N900.

N97 = 97% Nasty
i entered the above product code and NSU said the latest update is 22.0.110.01.01, but the software on my phone is currently 22.0.110.06.01, which to me sounds like it’s newer, is that correct or should i update?
I think n97 after the v22 update is not crap i think its equivalent if not superior to i phone 4! For the following reasons:
1. i_phone 3 was not multitasking while n97 is the new i-phone 4 is multitasking but has problems with reception if u hold it wrong that apple is givin out some sort of case for the phone!
2. Camera on i-phone3 is 2 megapixel no flash apple used a 5 mp cam with flash only on i-phone 4
3.every android or windows mobile phone or apple 4 has its issues not one operating system is flaw free eg, android version prior to 2.2 u cannot end applications to stop running in background; win mobile 6.5 is so baffling and uses up battery power quickly;
4. Battery life on all modern 3.5 inch screen mobiles is at best 1 day; the n97 lasts two days with full use
5. For a mobile running with a processor under 500 mhz and only 128 ram i say its pretty good but i think if this device made use of virtual memory that would be great
6. Price has been slashed to 200 euros and for that price what can u get? Acer neo ? Htc nexus? Or i phone 4? Xperia 10 even? All above 400euros and all have their problems

i phone 4 reception problems
htc is the only phone u can say is flawless but even so it sometimes erases all ur phonebook by accident
so i’d say n97 isnt bad it just needed a bigger ram and better processor but for the new slashed price its ok for a 3.5″ screen touch device with everything +free navigation and 32gb mass memory!

Yes Nokia N97 is not good full of errors and slow.
when will a new update be possible
hope V30 will be available soon. Im running on a V22. It lags a lot but what i did was to cut off some of its programs that are running through netqin. I love my N97, i just hope nokia will make miracles on its new version..
