The reason why people testing the N8 on video are constantly rotating the phone in the wrong direction (to get it to switch to landscape) is because the PR people have their respective heads in a very personal location where there is no light. When Steve Jobs lost his wifi during the WWDC, he made a disarming joke then quickly adapted his presentation to keep his audience hanging on his every word. Every amateurish video I have seen of the N8, and there are way too many, is filled with PR folks who go into bi-stable overload when there's a glitch. The sad part is they all seem to be trained to demonstrate the glitches, not the phones strengths. The software is not ready for release...so accentuate the positives, not the negatives. OPK could't drag a starving man to a BBQ...neither can his marketing team.

Yes, Nokia prefers showing a device early, with all the bugs, because it's happy with a market capitalization that is running dangerously close to the size of Apple's checking account. Nokia may have a marketing boss who has more stock in APPL than NOK! It's the only logical conclusion, other than pure incompetence. Great device...really...well done. Try not to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, you only have a chance or two left before the fan base completely jumps ship.

N8 is now a lag free device :-). Everything looks great for the upcoming symbian flagship.
I somehow hoped for a great portrait QWERTY. A better contact scrolling should have been implemented, like first alphabets visibility on the scroll bar.

I didn't mention being an iPhone or an Android owner, and I am not, but it's funny that you automatically associate high quality with the iPhone and Android.

N8 is Nokia's carrot to dangle in front of people in a hope to retain some interest till they release Symbian^4 and Meego.

Noah could not use multitouch, look at his video again.

The guys in this video said the retail device would support multitouch in maps.

Frankly, nothing impressive, it is not smooth, lags in many places and overall there really is no "wow" effect.

And landscape still rotates to one side only? Nokia..... 2010, Nokia....

They're gonnna have to work on the accelerometer sensitivity, and what is up with all these people constantly turning the phone the wrong way to get it to switch from portrait to landscape orientation?? Are they all that used to the iPhone?

Capacitive screen sensitivity also needs to be addressed. Looked like he was having a difficult time scrolling.

Noah from Phone Dog was able to use multitouch in Ovi Maps, with the phone in portrait orientation. This individual tried it and it didn't work in landscape. Wonder what's going on there.
