I’d rather have “after the break” than “after the jump”. It’s more commonly used, and makes more sense to me.

You could also use “Click through to read the full story” or something like that.

Cheers Roger. The Jump/Break thing is only from the main site. They don’t appear in the main post (and should damn disappear when viewing from the actual post).

They confused me too when I first started seeing them. But I do get how they could be annoying.

Before I could edit “Read more” to be “Click to read more of this post”
But now I can’t seem to to make it obvious that there’s more to the post.

Do you have suggestions on a better, less annoying/naff phrase?

PLEASE could you not use the phrase “after the jump…” as in “Read on after the jump…”. It is a horrible, horrible Americanism and makes me cringe everytime I read it. It is totally meaningless too – there is no “jump”, or page break, or anything else, on most of the sites that use this crap phrase. It’s just hideously naff on every level.

Possibly – that’s a good upside if that’s how it turns out.

Also it really shows what the readers are willing to click on. I have no idea why people clicked on articles before when they were originally immediately available. (Other than referrals/modified browser version)

Fingers crossed. That was one of the concerns of making people unnecessarily click when loading once worked. But if that’s how you guys prefer it, plus it helps with the concerns posted (bandwidth, mobile browsing, etc).

Thanks. We had page breaks before but was concerned that some people prefer reading the site as is without clicking.

But then I’ve received feedback about the low bandwidth issue and the difficulty viewing from mobile.

If you have got suggestions in future, go ahead and email us. We will have a renovation of the site soon and will be asking for our readers’ input in how the site should look when the themes/layout changes.

Pheww… Finally.. Page breaks r the way to go Jay.. I’ve been wanting to tell u that since the N8 vs the rest of the phone line-ups u came across in one of those phone shops article but decided against it thinking/hoping someone else would have already feedback the difficulty of loading the page on their mobile device to u…
Alas… U’ve come to ur senses.. Page breaks it is… Btw good article, this one.. Looking forward to more photography tips on the N8..
