What size TV screen is best for watching videos from an E7?
I connected mine to my 19in TV and the result was not good, couldn't see much of the phone screen on the TV, leading me to assume I need a bigger TV but wondering what size would be optimal? if I just plug the phone in via HDMI, I want to be able to see the whole screen.
Thanks

Width of websites whilst browsing is more a function of physical screen size rather than resolution of the screen, at least on mobile devices.

The pixel sizes on all of these screens are tiny to the point of not being visible, the increased resolution is practically little more than a fairly useless statistic that doesn't assist in the slightest in the real world.

The increased resolution doesn't make any difference on video playback - your average divx is lower resolution than even the "lowly" 640x360 screen on Nokias.

If you're talking about 720p video, they'll all have to be downscaled, and at least the Nokias have the advantage of being able to output that in its native resolution.

I've tried an HQ video on the N900 and the N8 (same video) and didn't see the difference either.. Maybe the people who sees the difference have super eyes of some sort.. :/

Maybe you should say "I cannot see a difference"- some people can.
And it's not only the resolution of videos, it's also the width of websites when browsing.

Please see the attached independent review of screens, including your Wave to see where the CBD screen on E7 really wins. http://tinyurl.com/246zjmc

Sure, 40% less is a difference, but its not exactly what you'd count as a practical difference.

I've watched videos on the 3.5" 640x360 screen of the N8, and the same videos on the ZTE Blade with its 3.5" 800x480 screen. Is there a visible difference? Of course not. The only real difference is that the N8 outputs via HDMI at 1280x720, much higher resolution, so you can genuinely watch higher definition on the N8 quite easily.

<strong><a href="#comment-36710" rel="nofollow">Smith</a> :</strong>
That’s rubbish, and you consistently criticise Nokia on here (which is fine) with incorrect, biased nonsense (which is the bit that’s not fine).
Anyone with half a brain knows that increased resolution makes very little difference and really,
</blockquote>

What am I supposed to reply to another guy who just gets personal after someone has a beef with their favorite brand?
I know this is a Nokia fan forum and still I see no reason to not critisize. And on the resoultion issue I am not the only one- by far not, every reviewer says the same and the only explanation I found so far was that Nokia wanted to avoid a shortage in supply like HTC had with the Desire.
The argumtens of the fanboys are always the same, they always find a good reason to defend theit brand. I have no brand loyalty at all and I want Nokia to succeed, but when they fail I won't shut up.
40% less IS a difference, go watch a high res video on the N8 and then on the Wave. Or surf the web and navigate a site in all 4 directions.

216 ppi, there's nothing bad about that.

What does give a false impression is the use of fonts in for example Nokia's own social app. They look like jagged aliased crap. If you look at for example Opera, with anti-aliased fonts you can zoom out until they still look nice but are too small to read.

For photos/videos a screen resolution of 216 ppi is really not a problem.
