Video: Ripping apart the Booklet 3G and Putting SSD inside

I meant to post about this a couple of days ago but couldn’t post anything during the site move. Just saw it tweeted up by @dailymobile and remembered it.

The Booklet 3G. It’s a pretty awesome little netbook, I mean, mini-laptop. Excellent 12 hour battery life (well) in a very, very compact frame with in built 3G. I really enjoyed using one and it was a great tool during Nokia World as it powered through the day and circumvented the WiFi issues with its 3G. Though for the price and the power inside, it was a little hard to justify it beyond the classy netbook category.

Popular Maemo reviewer zehjotkah, has got one of these booklets and has decided to rip it open and put a SSD into it. These on same platform/specification tests have shown SSDs to boot up faster, open programs faster, perform searches and anti virus scans quicker and generally because of lack of spinning/moving parts are less likely to break and would have longer battery life. I wonder how much more this gives the booklet 3G?

Check it out booting (was there a cut away there?) Ubuntu.
