Gallery: Leaked: Nokia C2-06 Dual Sim Touch and Type Slider

| April 19, 2011 | 34 Replies

Thanks to Ovi Maps  3D, half an hour just disappeared exploring the new 3D cities, and then jumping down to the streetview. I’ve only been to London and then a brief visit to Finland. There’s soo much to look at. I haven’t been this excited about Nokia things in a long while.

Enough about that, let’s check a look at the latst touch and type, leaked over at hakingtosh india cheers varun from fonearena for the tip..and @adit38!

It’s called the C2-06. This was the bluetooth name of the device. As usual, prototype branded C0.

I’m finding it to be not bad looking actually, on the verge of beautiful.

This is a dual SIM S40 Touch and type handset. Good stuff (if only Nokia were able to push out dual sim handsets faster and in greater numbers)

Do you reckon this is metal? The C3 series surprisingly have a lot of metal in them.

This is, of course, a slider. It’s actually not the first touch and type slider. Remember what could have been the Nokia RM745?

The back has a 2mp camera. The C3/X3 touch and types both have 5MP.

That’s actually quite nifty! Could want one to be my backup phone if I didn’t have 5530 already.

  2. Keist says:

Low-end smartphone market – Nokia’s territory right now.

    • KeiZka says:

That’s no smartphone, though it’s on par with iPhone 3G when it comes to functionality.

      S40 is a featurephone OS.

  3. Can’t wait for a Dual SIM Phone with Dual standby mode. Wish this time they couldn’t make only single standby mode like C1

thats one Big Fat Ugly device!

  5. Janimatik says:

    Looks good to me.

If the price is right potential to be a bestseller.

  6. Poop says:

We want more high end devices. -.-

  7. Galaktus says:

    I just want C2 but…
“The company did announce their first ever Dual SIM handset at CommunicAsia last year the – C2-00 but sadly the handset is still not widely available in any market.”

  8. Mavrick says:

I sure hope Nokia releases some non-touch devices. Not every wants a touch device.

  9. he says:

jay,by looking at the keypad of this handset i can conclude that its going to be launch in India soon because the keypad shows HINDI LANGUAGE.good move by Nokia because in India people want dual Sim handset and the scorching heat is already coming from other local manufacturers here for e.g. MICRO MAX.
all in all its specifically targeted for Asian markets particularly south and south east Asia.

  11. Chris_Skylock says:

where’s the C2-00? our consumers are asking us already and we can answer them directly. lol

  12. stylinred says:

I love the idea of Dual Sim phones, I just hate that we can’t find them on this side of the world :/

The phone looks pretty good, I imagine it will be rather affordable; if it isn’t then that 2mpx has to go ;)

  13. Gary H says:

I love these touch and type phones. The resistive screens are so good now. But I would like a merge of old and new. As above with big comfortable number pad. Camera with xenon and Carl Zeiss lens. LED flashlight/torch. Big single speaker from X1 with two satellite mini speakers. Older Symbian, beautiful, simple & fast.

  14. Kary says:

By the way, if this is the C2-06 I wonder how C2-04 and C2-05 looks like. Or have Nokia announced these devices yet?

    I like this one.

  15. Janimatik says:

Does it really have a GPS because there’s Ovi maps shortcut?

That could give a edge for Nokia against other cheap phone makers. What do you think?

  16. Eric Murphy says:

this is really an awesome phone from Nokia. The trust of Nokia and dual SIM feature make s a perfect combination..
