"MeeGo is an expensive failed project."

Have you seen the just announced N9? It seems like Elop killed Meego purposefully as it is shaping up to be an interesting platform.

If we forget about all the speculation of the last months and take a step back to see the larger picture we'll understand that now that Nokia has dropped Symbian and Meego, they are just another hardware manufacturer like many others.
So why should it be so hard to imagine that they make WP AND Android like many others too?
The only reason against it IMHO is that M$ might not like the idea and could have prevented it in their contract with Nokia.
Other that that, it would make a great deal of sense.

disagree that Nokia would lack a leader. I believe that Jarmo Ollila is for Nokia what Steve Jobs is for Apple.

Oh, and just how it does make sense? Or would it take "too many time" (sic) to explain why it makes sense? Perhaps Eldar and you have some kind of superior intuition, because as history has shown, Eldar is usually correct...

Oh wait.

I remember hearing the same thing about Apple about 5 times in the 1990s and even early 2000's when they were still stuck with the hopelessly slow Motorola G4 processors. And while there is no "Jobs" available to pick up the pieces at Nokia, one should not forget that Nokia today is a much larger and more diverse company than Apple was 10 years ago, which means a larger buffer to weather the bad times. Heck, even Motorola survived despite never enjoying the kind of position in the global phone markets Nokia still has even today.
