I mentioned some great apps for symbian in my post below, cnn app is flawless, horus is a rss reader almost as good as pulse on the ipad. Betalabs has many usefull and good looking applications that you can't find in ovi store. There's nothing like bubbles or sleep screen for ios. Molome looks quite good and had several updates, i don't know how it is for sharing because i'm not a facebook fan. Excepting for the camera i don' really see any lack of apps. But colorizit and even camera pro, shutterpro and pocketbooth, photo 3 d are as good as ios camera apps. Recordoid is a great voice recorder app and I don't know if you can record calls in ios but there are very good apps for this in symbian. Magic brush is an excellent drawing app. Spb time, astroller, touch hider, and i could go on. Maybe you need more apps for sharing but i really hate the facebook era. And most of the good games are indeed ported from iphone but how many of them do you really need aniways? You should be glad there is still some interest in symbian after stephen elop destroys it with every word he says. If it wasn't for him there would be much more symbian apps and n8 would be selling. It's the first ceo i see that works only for destroying the company he is directing.

c0d3rror is oddly quiet.

He had much criticism for youtube in the browser the other day.
Due to some functionality a dedicated iOS youtube app brings, that the the site + browser can't

Look like this is now a non-issue.

"You can’t see the quality of the Apps just by browsing ovi store. "

So me checking out the Ovi Store, downloading apps, and not really being satisfied by the quality of apps is not good enough? Where am I supposed to find these quality apps for Symbian^3 then?

The fence may not be totally greener on iOS but apps I'm finding are generally of higher quality. Let's not mention games because any good games on S^3 are old ports from iOS.

Although I'm a Nokia fan, this isn't something I can ignore. I'm looking for apps to play with, to share, to video but nothing really that good. It's quite rare to find a great Symbian app. We should see a new fantastic one every day. Just 30 great apps per month, is that too much? (I understand great is subjective - I mean good/functional with polish.)

You can't see the quality of the Apps just by browsing ovi store. Your comments are weird being this one of the most visited symbian sites. I had a lot of problems with my n8 most of them related with qt and memory. But after making a hard reset twice, using mguard, installing the last version of qt and being aware you can't install and erase too many apps because they leave traces in memory i had no problems any more and i have installed more than 60 apps.
ios is no paradise either. My ipad2 had two sudden reboots, some apps crash constantly, there are lot of annoying notifications pressuring you to buy something in almost every app, the bills arrives to your mail a few days later, with ovistore they arrive instantly. Ios is very good in some aspects but nothing is perfect. I hate this agressive way of selling full versions or app complements, this is savage capitalism.
There are two great advantage of symbian over ios and wp7, one is file system, you can even download files and videos directly from the internet and uncompress them on your device and the other is ui customization. With apps like widgeleon car plates, home clock, gotomenu, quick launck, fast panel, gridqt, ndesk, spb shell, folder icon, widewallpaper, forcecontrol widget, bubbles, sleep screen, favourite apps, universal search etc.. and a lot of nice themes you can change completely the appearance of the ui and increase its fonctionnality.

This is a very unfair thing to say. I have an ipad2 and a nokia n8, and sincerely I have the same quality apps in both devices. I even feel there is almost the same quantity of apps for both. Apps like cnn, battery monitor, ap mobile, lyrics, ttpod, internet radio, loop, colorizit, molome, horus, 3dworld gaze, gtranslator, nokia live view, nokia bubbles, sleep screen to name a few have nothing to envy to ios apps. Talking about this app in particular I can say this one is much better compared to ios youtube app. In ios you can´t even sort by date, as a matter fact there is any kind of sorting option, videos appear randomly. Here you can choose between vimeo, dailymotion and youtube and you have various options of sorting which for me is great. Really I don´t think the problem of symbian is lack of apps or low quality apps; you can find all the most important things and most of the best games. IOS also have a lot of very poor quality apps and dozens that do the same. And for the installation problems, install the last qt version and they will be solved. The real problem of symbian is that nokia has always been greedy with memory and processor speed, ¨memory full close some applications and try again¨ is a nokia classic. If they make an n8 with 1ghz processor, 1gb of ram, symbian belle and a four inch screen i´d buy it inmediatly.
