The OMAP3 SOC use Cortex A8 & OMAP4 use Cortex A9. I am not a programer but I would have thought the OS would use OpenGL ES 2.0 to communicate with the GPU, both the BCM2727 & PowerVR SGX530 support this.

Nokia still have to do QA on all hardware levels so the older ARM11 will be released later as they focus on new hardware.

I have no inside knowledge on this subject, so my comments are also idle speculation.

These new designs look bad. Very uninspired.

The previous generation didn’t look much better either, only the N8 looked decent but these new ones… bleh.

Have you ever seen real video , belle running on N8 or E7 ???
We saw only fake pics , I can show you ^4 pics as well !!!
Belle even wasn’t officially announced and we don’t have Anna yet !
You must understand that new symbian devices are goIng with new hardware ,
Omap 3630 with Cortex A9 processor and PowerVr Sgx graphics like on N9.
And this chipset needs different drivers ( gpu driver for example ) to run.
And the small team of symbian developers , which already almost doesn’t remain, won’t port Belle to work on current symbian devices with arm11 and Broadcomm Gpu. It’s a hard work for nokia now…
