Nokia 200, 300 and 303 spotted on Ovi Publish (along with Belle Trio, Nokia 600, 700, 701)

Siraj from lovemynokia has spotted three new S40 handsets on Ovi publish with the new naming convention.

  • 320×240 – landscape – Nokia 200 – another budget QWERTY
  • 240×320 – portrait – Nokia 300, and Nokia 303
Whilst the names might be hard to remember, at least you can differentiate 300 from 303 (instead of the myriads of Nokia C3, C3-00, C3-01, C3-02 etc. These would have been fine if they just appeared one year after the other as an upgrade to keep these line of phones memorable but no.)
Update: What’s the HVGA screen device there? 320×480?
Glenn tipped the same some info from Ovi Publish, as you can see the Nokia 600, 700 and 701 .

These listed are the Belle device. These started as rumours, then leaked images appeared, uaprofs on Nokia.com and then FCC approvals for all but the Nokia 701 and of course, last week the sudden announcement of the Nokia 500.

Rumour is that the Nokia 700 with Belle will appear then as early as September.

What I want to know what the S40 HVGA devices are and when they’re being released, if they haven’t already been released

  2. DGui says:

I’ve also heard that the previously rumoured E7-04 will be reappearing soon as a 700/800-series device… I really can’t wait to see what they have planned, my problem is just the 3.2-inch screens and the resolution…

  3. ssdh says:

I knew it, 4 hundred and below were S40 phones, Looks like the 8 and 9 hundred series are reserved for non-symbian phones.. LOL

  4. dsmobile says:

there is no OS selection with the series it just price points nothing else.

  5. Slayer says:

anyone noticed the “NOT COMPATIBLE” label

    • glenn says:

a nokia with symbian 3 and qwerty will be good

    • MrQwerty says:

A Symbian Belle successor to the Nokia E5 (or even E6) would be nice; one that doesn’t exhibit the same flaws as the current E6: weak notification light, weak vibration alert, relatively short battery life.

  12. Rock says:

What happened to the N8-01? Was it a fake picture?

    • Jvardon says:

That’s what I want to know too. I thought it would be a real contender with it’s qHD screen an possible 14MP cam.
I hope it comes out, even if it’s named something else. Nokia should give it Belle or Meego, it will be great is it’s just a beefed up N8.
      1GHz, maybe dual-core
512MB RAM, please nokia. i no symbian doesnt need it but just to make the haters shut up.
