Video: Symbian Anna Software Update: Overview of New Features (Changelog)

| August 18, 2011 | 110 Replies

Another new video from Nokia about Symbian Anna. A lot of you have already been updating to this today as Anna has officially been released. Middle of August start, hopefully more people will get it by the end of August (though if your phone is locked to a network, it may take some time)

You can view a changelog over at http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/13196_Symbian_Anna_now_available_for.php

There’s about 18 things there listed. Perhaps the other 32+ (to make it the 50+ update) is part of point 18 “Over 100 under-the-hood optimisations and bug fixes. In general this means you’ll notice both smoother and faster operations during usage.”.

It’s a shame after waiting so long THIS is what we’re seeing, especially as Belle brings a lot more of the visual changes – which is what everyone has been wanting from Symbian for so long.

Ah well be glad that one part of the wait is over. You can now start waiting for Official release of Belle. Note that it may be available sooner than you think. At least, not the epic wait he did for PR2.0/Anna.

Enjoying Symbian Anna?

    Anna is cool…stable…fast.
Belle will be the ‘icing on top’!!

    • Ninja says:

FINALLY. Someone (including the writers on this blog – Jay) who is NOT complaining about things.

      Such a relief. Thank you.

Jay – learn something here please.

      • Ninja says:

i.e. “It’s a shame after waiting so long THIS is what we’re seeing,” – which can be summarised as whinge whinge, whine whine, complain, ungrateful, ungrateful.

Anyone complaining about Anna should have their N8 (etc) taken away and forced to use a Google Nexus or some early HTC WinPho shit for a whole year. Then come crawling back to Symbian and Nokia in humble gratitude.

    First thing I noticed:
    1. The buttons on bottom remains there when I shift btw 3 home screens
    2. The pictures on home screen are now more bigger. My own picture actually went outside screen…

  6. Markus says:

    • Andre says:

AFAIK you’ll have to get this firmware update using the latest OVI Suite on your computer, it cannot be installed using OTA method, or maybe it’s not available for your product code.

  11. Ely says:

anyone here knows if where this update will be available in saudi arabia?thanks!

  12. immortal says:

3 more updates available over at OTA for anna(probably apps)-
