Blue and Black Nokia N9 hands on and video (from N9 event in Turkey?)
I don’t know if you remember but yesterday amongst other things was supposedly a Nokia N9 event in Turkey, as noted by the folks at Teknoblog. Well they’ve got their hands on pics and video of the N9. The article does not mention where it comes from but I’m guessing this is related to that [...]
B@TV app for Nokia Symbian^3 phones, promoted by O2-UK. Win tickets to Pacha closing party in Ibiza
I saw some adverts for this on TV but it was on a random obscure music channel so I didn’t think too much about it. David emailed us a couple of links however that explains what those ads were about. It’s the B@TV app, seemingly just for Nokia’s, promoted by O2 UK. You might remember [...]
Confirmed: Nokia N9 with BT4.0 and FM Radio and Transmitter.
Nokia on it’s comparison between N9 and N950 told us that the N9 had BT4.0. That of course was not consistent on their specs page which led to the likes of Eldar bashing the N9 for having only an old BT2.X (amongst other things like an ‘average’ screen, haha, average. Note anything Nokia and average [...]
Video: FireFox for MeeGo-Harmattan Nokia N9/N950
Here’s a look at FireFox for MeeGo-Harmattan, demoed on the Nokia N950 (another app to add, future N9 users). This is demoed by MaemoSverige Both landscape and portrait mode. Supports multi-touch No flash by default (not sure if you can add it as an add-on) Blog mentions future plans for GPU acceleration. Video by MaemoSverige from meegosweden via [...]
Updated: Nokia Play To from Nokia Beta Labs.
The Nokia Play To app that John wrote about back in June got updated yesterday at Nokia Beta Labs. What is Nokia Play? Nokia Play To lets you show photos and videos taken with your mobile to your friends wirelessly on your TV. Or you can listen to your favourite music stored on your mobile with your home audio system. [...]
Nokia N9 on Amazon.com (USA)? 16GB/64GB for 500/650USD?
On Sunday James found an Amazon.com listing for the Nokia N9 64GB (650USD) and yesterday, @ph_eagle and Lim Chong Han told us of a 500USD listing too of the 16GB N9 on Amazon. I’m not entirely sure if this is a legitimate listing. Both are from a seller that was as old as the [...]
Ovi Store updated to v1.12.042? (on E7?)
One of our readers Agus emailed to tell us that Ovi Store has been updated to v2.12.042 (I’m still on v2.12.033 – but I am on a Nokia N8) He’s provided us some screenshots he took from his Nokia E7, hoping that this update would fix his ‘log in failed’ errors. I currently get the [...]
And the anticlimax? TabCo to introduce the Grid 10 – JooJoo2.
Oh wow, what an anticlimax. “Introducing the Grid 10! Pursuing our launch and learn to know our product http://t.co/R8mixoB”. Whilst we speculated early on of the possibilities of Nokia/MeeGo relations, TabCo as it turns out (and correctly by a few of our readers) is introducing to the world the Grid 10. It’s still not officially launched and we haven’t seen how incredible they [...]
Google buys Motorola. Yes Really.
I remember reading Staska’s (Unwired View) posts suggesting Google should buy Motorola as a quick and easy fix for all their patent problems. And apparently they’ve done just that. Well that blows out any possibility of Motorola ever making a Windows Phone handset. No wonder they kept flaunting their IP portfolio. Quite a bargain [...]
RH – 131 Passes FCC. What is it?
We’ve brought you stories regarding other phones that have been found on the FCC’s site. I found this the other day, but didn’t really think much of it. I’ve decided today that maybe one of our readers can help me identify what this is. It’s the only image found on the FCC page. Never before [...]
TabCo Mystery Ends Today
So for us, the secretive TabCo story has been intriguing us for 6 weeks now. Mostly grasping at the tiny straws of hope that it could some how be Nokia related. Of the later posts, we’ve resigned to accepting it’s anyone else but Nokia. However, since we’ve been dragged along the journey, I think we’d all like to know [...]
Symbian-Guru’s thoughts on Windows Phone Mango
Ricky Cadden was for a time, the Symbian-Guru, which along side All About Symbian was one of the main sources to go to for Symbian related news, reviews, tips etc. Famously of course, he (and the team) left their site, due to frustrations with Nokia, Symbian and their combined efforts of ‘craptastic’ flagships. He [...]
Nokia 702T Photos, disassembly pics and manual as it passes FCC #RM-730
@anhastats tweeted us yesterday that the Nokia 702T has passed FCC. What’s that? Well that’s one of the handsets that leaked all the way back in April and was officially confirmed in June. T stands for TD-SCDMA, for China, and it’s pretty much the Chinese version of the Nokia E6-00. I’m not sure if [...]
Video: Nokia C2-02 touch and type review
iGyaan has uploaded their video review of the Nokia C2-02, which was announced at Nokia Connection 2011. It is apparently priced at 3200-3500INR. (Is this right? That makes it around 50 euros, 43GBP, 70USD – A search ending up on CNET says yes) This is a S40 touch and type handset, featuring a slider mechanism for [...]
Videos: Nokia N9 demo – GPS, Contact, Gallery, Web, Email etc.
Another post going through our drafts section. This one has been here since Tuesday. We have a lot in the drafts – sometimes unfinished stories/news/reviews, sometimes left to ration out the server and thus gets forgotten and others we just weren’t all too sure in publishing at all. Like what this one was. It’s another [...]
2M Nokia Windows Phone shipments from Compal to begin September?
You may have already heard that Compal, Taiwanese Original Design Manufacturer or the folks apparently making Nokia’s first Windows Phone devices, will start delivery to Nokia of 2 million units by September (2011). This should mean that announcement by October 26th SHOULD mean these devices are ready to be on sale shortly after announcement which [...]
Video: Ovi Store for MeeGo-Harmattan (Nokia N950/N9)
We some some screenshots of Ovi Store for MeeGo Harmattan. But even better is seeing it in action – how the motion flows. Start up here is a little painful – 25 seconds. Though I guess Ovi Store was just recently working. Afterwards, movement through Ovi Store seems quick enough. Screenshots within apps thankfully are [...]

swipe.nokia.se gone?
We’ve had a tip from Peter N. that the Nokia Sweden swipe page has disappeared. Just this week the counter disappeared, supposedly because Nokia were letting the carrier decide when to make N9 available not them just having this September 23rd deadline. Cached version here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://swipe.nokia.se/ The main swipe page still exists though: http://swipe.nokia.com/
Accessories: Nokia N9 Silicone cases (Black/Green) :p
I love the N9. I haven’t got one yet. But to satisfy my cravings for it now, I’ve got the closest thing I can get to it :p some accessories. You may have noticed that you can get Nokia N9 accessories already. So I thought I’d get a couple. These are some N9 silicone cases, [...]
New Nokia N8, E7, C7, C6-01 officially with Anna
I just wanted to update this again as I’ve received some mail asking whether new Symbian^3 handsets were already coming out with Anna. As far as we know, this should have began some time in July. Just today Paul tipped us that on Nokia’s site, both the E7 and N8 pages have updated specifications [...]
