5MP camera but no flash.. I am disappointed with the processing speed of the phone. Though, they have given 1GHz processor but only 256MB RAM and this slows down the speed of the phone. Overall, it's a nice device. What else could you expect from a below 10k smartphone. Even I have written a review of Nokia 500. Here's the link, in case you want to explore the phone further - http://cellphoneswatch.blogspot.com/2011/10/nokia-500-review.html

Judging from the content of your post, I think you meant to say "YOU the Symbian and Nokia Fans should not expect etc etc".

You are transparent.

Well i said it a few days back and i am saying it again We the Symbian and Nokia Fans should not expect too much from Sybmian OS on a whole be it Anna or Belle or whatever they might call it in the future. We should stop circling around Symbian an OS which is day by day finding it hard to stand its ground against the competetion. I am not saying Android,IOS are perfect, but they are far more User friendly and Efficient,be it browsing, syncing mails and updates etc These OS's are constantly updating and apgrading their UI look at Android its gone from 1.6 to honeycomb is just over a year ..Samsung, HTC and SE have made a fantastic comeback and has covered a whole lot of ground that i thought is commendable.

I belive for once Nokia is going in the Right direction by chossing Windows OS, if they focus and keep up thier promises they could still make a comeback .....I have not lost my faith in Nokia but i will not buy another nokia with any graded or upgraded version of Symbain OS.

This number has been thrown around since the 500 was announced, but I don't know where it originated. Nokia's online store in my country is selling it for € 230, which is a lot more than 150 + 23% VAT.

Symbian is the ultimate example of the 'Sunk Costs' fallacy.

It's probably more accurate to say that video encoding is best done by a co-processor, rather than the CPU. The GPU often is that co-processor.

The N95 (and N93 before it) did indeed have a good GPU. Shame Nokia didn't make much use of it.

Why would they let Huawei etc. have that market when Nokia has a perfectly good offering to make as well, leveraging Symbian investments and sunk costs they've done and would do anyway?

Nokia is trying to get back into the high end too. N9 being a good example perhaps not harware specs wise, fully, of course, but price wise yes - they must be getting very good margins at least at launch when price is high.

Oh, I understand, but let Huwaei and the white box manufacturers have that market.

Maybe Nokia should be going a bit higher end.
