What do you mean “I am intrigued to see whether the general public likes WinPho’s tiles or not” Windows Phone 7 has been out for a year now. People don’t seem to love it, myself included.

If you ask me, Live Tiles are Widgets… just widgets (and fixed ones like the ones on Symbian 3 and the N97/C6 HS)

It should be WP7 is built that “Content is King”. They really nailed the content centric approach to an OS. Everything feels so connected and alive.

I almost forgot that Facebook, Messenger and Twitter existed even though I use them now more than ever before haha.

Widgets are nice as well! Not saying they are not! But they are not the same thing.

Live Tiles replace static icons with dynamic icons. Widgets are more extensions of applications. I usually find that I choose Widgets not because they are useful but more because just maybe I found some that don’t look terrible next to each other

Joe Belfiore is cool, but Marko Ahtisaari is the man!!! I’m not a Nokia fan, but after listening his lecture about the N9, got me thinking about it in new ways.

So what about the widgets Symbian has had for ages then? You can update those too with all sorts of info, and now in Belle they can be different shapes and sizes. This seems to me significantly more advanced than the rectangular blocks of Windows Phone.
