I purchased my N8 August 2nd or so arrived 9th august,2011, day before my bday, the NA version, i always wanted the UK version cause Nokia is Finnish company, the updates always roll their first, most Americans don't support symbian so it's no suprise to me that carriers and nokia haven't gotten the updates rolling.... things will all change with release of WP7 Nokia phones, they are working on grabbing more carriers and they will be tied to Microsoft release update schedule and we know how that is, Mango updates rolling out.

Most americans are blinded by iphone and android, the funcationality of N8 is great, so don't fret if update takes this long.

You've supported other phones so that's why they won't be anymore symbian phones in US market, guess any of u gotta buy from UK or other regions to grab one.

The Belle OS seems like great UI transition also...let's see what the future holds.

Who care if Anna has bugs? They realeased it for other countries and then released software updates to fix the bugs as they get to them! At least they have SOMETHING already! Give us Anna so we can experience SOME of the improvements and then just fix the bugs with software updates!

I'm a huge Nokia fan but, this is ridiculous! Belle is supposed to be out in like late October. How are we supposed to get THAT on time if we still don't have Anna?! Face it, only hardcore Nokia fans in the US have an N8, E7, or what have you ANYWAYS! There's no carrier that has them here, they need to be special ordered online at full price! So we know what we're getting ourselves into, just give us our os!

If you want to impress Americans then make sure your Windows phone is the best on the market, but as far as the s^3 users in the US, we're already fans! We understand sometimes there's a bug. At least Nokia will give us a software update to fix the bug. We're ok with that. Just GIVE US OUR OPERATING SYSTEM! WE'VE EARNED IT! Do you know how hard it is to be a Nokia fan in America? And how much people hate in a sea of iphones and android devices? Nokia you're dropping the ball. I need to be able to say "that's nice, but look at this! See how cool it looks?"! Give us our new os man.

NO! Absolutely they did not. They said very vaguely it would be released "in the next few weeks." Is that 3? So we sit here hitting refresh refresh refresh every day.

All they have to do is say "We release on Thursdays" and "First batch of X,Y,Z countries ETA Aug 4th, next batch A,B,C countries on Aug 11," etc. Then, when they get to that date, if they aren't going to meet it - They post the revised schedule.

This is not that difficult.

bwast... :) Precisely why I will skip Anna even when it is released in the U.S.

It's good that you were able to install it. Enjoy!

@migo...+1. Microsoft, for the most part, has a 'Where's My Phone Update' chart that they put up on one of their sites so that users can check to see where exactly their carrier is with regards to testing, scheduling, and delivering the update. In addition, past actions by Microsoft also ensures that unlocked devices, regardless of location/region, gets the update prior to locked/subsidized phones.

But Nokia didn't lie to you; Nokia DID give you an ETA - a few weeks. If they had given you an actual date, however, and then missed that date, folks would still be upset, so it seems folks would still be upset to some extent regardless.

Frankly, yes, I think that given all of the initial issues reported with bugs that presented themselves when the update was first released, that Nokia should be taking the extra time it needs to make sure that subsequent releases of Anna not present or have any adverse effects for those yet to receive the update.

Who knows, maybe N.A. will be amongst the first to receive Belle.

At any rate, for me, the Anna update is not significant, and I will not be installing it. However, I would like for the N.A. rollout of the Anna update to be hiccup and bug free for those that want to install Anna.
