Rumours: Nokia Windows Phone, Nokia Ace to have 4.3″ AMOLED, 1800mAh and LTE 4G – AT&t Q1 2012. SeaRay+Sabre specifications inside.

We got sent this by “anonymous tipster” so take this with massive pinches of salt. If any of this is true, you may be quite pleased. Apparently, they will ALL be announced on October 26th at Nokia World. Just 25 days away. You can see that SeaRay is indeed not the high end Nokia Windows Phone. But it is pretty decent. Then there’s an ace in Nokia’s sleeve. BTW whilst we’re talking high end, let’s not forget possible new Symbian stuff for next year too. :)

SeaRay specifications: (seen in various places now). Copy and pasted from the email:

  • Clear Black Display CBD
  • CarlZeiss
  • 8MP AF
  • 3.7″ amoled screen
  • 16gb internal storage
  • 1.4gHz processor
  • Mango WP7.5
  • battery 1540mAh

Sabre Specifications: (Recently leaked by Microsoft themselves)

  • interchangeable back cover
  • CBD
  • 25gb skydrive
  • 3.7″ LCD
  • 8gb internal storage
  • 5mp AF
  • 1.4gHz processor
  • Mango
Lastly the crown jewel which I have not seen anywhere. It departs slightly from the sea creature theme, though I am no fish expert.

Nokia Ace

  • 4.3″ amoled
  • 1800mAh
  • carl zeiss
  • 8mp AF
  • mango+
  • HSPA+ (YES THIS IS GOING TO BE NOKIA’S FIRST LTE 4G PHONE… COMING TO AT&T in usa IN Q1 2012)
  • CBD
  • 1.4 gHz processor
  • 16GB internal storage

Well, there you have it. On top of Nokia SeaRay and Nokia Sabre, both decent but not exactly high end devices, there is potentially something called the Nokia Ace, addressing the larger screen requirement. None have dual core at the moment, but that’s not present in any Windows Phone Mango device yet.  And for now, Dual Core is mostly just bragging rights – or a nice winter-warmer and battery killer.

These may all be announced at Nokia World 2011. Then at MWC there may be more in the way of Nokia high end.

  1. Ole says:

Thanks for giving people more reasons to buy the n9:-)

  2. Johnny Tremaine says:

Limiting the on-board memory to 8 and 16gb is pretty weak beer, IMO.

    • Cloud says:

+1 I was hoping for at least 32 gigs…but 16 for a high end device without being able to use a sd card in addition? Quite lame… Why not the 64 gig like in the N9?

  3. Vikas Patidar says:

I have been using mango phone(dell venue pro).

All i say is it’s just awesome but what features i don’t liked is:

    1) Tiles looks ugly and practically not useful at all better they would have given a simple home page where we can put shortcuts of the various apps.

    2) Main menu is only in List View is looks ugly and our fingers need more efforts to scroll at apps which are not visible. Though it has search option is side.

    3) Huge tiles in the Panorama based apps are just wasting of the space.

    And what i loved is:

    1) OS is damn fast and sleek;

    2) Pivot based apps looks very awesome and off course works great.

    3) Phone and application look seems very appealing when user changes color accents in themes.

    4) Email client is great.

IMO sometimes i liked this os very much in case of the apps which works very smooth and in swipe based pivots. but when i see those tiles and squares shapes icons i feel a lot of hate.

So I am waiting for a Windows Phone with a real Nokia Stamp at software level.

  4. guest says:

Sorry, but HSPA+ is not LTE and not 4G. Also, iPhone 5 (coming October 4) is supposed to have HSPA+ too.

  5. migo says:

HSPA+ does not = LTE. Wouldn’t trust this source at all.

Also, makes no sense that the Sea Ray would be a 3.7″ screen. 54 pixels doesn’t account for 2″

    • Alex F. says:

All Windows Phones have the same resolution – 480×800. Size of the screen in inches does not change amount of pixels.

      • migo says:

The N9 has 480×854, taking the same size case and bringing it down to 480×800 for WP isn’t going to make a .2″ difference.

        • Andre C says:

Actually it does. The calculation is simple.

          This is the formula to use: c^2 = a^2 + b^2

          http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/1/4/5/1455314a78f39a594485adbaf74d63f9.png

We don’t have the length of the sides but that’s ok, we can use the pixel counts.

          c ^ 2 = 854 ^ 2 + 480 ^ 2 –> c = 979.6509

          Now the second one:

          c ^ 2 = 800 ^ 2 + 480 ^ 2 –> c = 932.9523

          Now the screen size x:

          932.9523 / 979.6509 = x / 3.9

          x = 3.714

Now that’s not far from 3.7.

          • migo says:

            I stand corrected.

Still, no way that Ace leak is legit. Anyone who doesn’t know the difference between HSPA+ and LTE clearly doesn’t have inside information.

            • NokNok says:

May be he is saying that HSPA+ is for the global version (like GS-II) and a AT&T variant of this would have LTE.

        • rebel_ng says:

          What about the hardware keys?

          • Andre C says:

What about them? N9 has a 3.9″ 854 x 480 display. When you go from that resolution to 800 x 480 on the same screen, the size would decrease to 3.7″ and you’ll have extra space just bellow it to put the hardware keys. Got it?

  6. Jesse says:

So excited for the ACE if it is true. That is my favorite screen size, please come to Tmobile USA!

    • Timmy says:

Ha! If they had a 4.4″ screen size would that be your favourite? :)
Never used anything above 3.5 so not sure how it’d look!

  7. zaxxx says:

I’d like to see ace,big screen and ghz thats matter to me.not really fan of wp but i should give Nokia chance

    • nononnon says:

Swing by your local cell phone carrier. WP7 (and even the newer releases) is pretty terrible.

    • LogicialThinker says:

Go swing by your local phone store that holds Windows Phones. You’ll be amazed, believe me.

      • Just Visiting says:

+1. The key is to find a local carrier that has a working WP device on display, and a sales staff that won’t try to steer you in the direction of an Android device.

      • N9user says:

I have done just that, and I was not amazed but was rather pleased, thought it had a couple if really good ideas, and then I saw how other people reacted to it without any sort of external interference, as they looked at it played with it for a bit made a frown face and moved to the next device, and sales were… well we know how sales are still a thing the WP as still not managed to get even with the incredible cheep prices they go for.

      • JJ says:

Played with Windows phones at a local HTC retailer. Not impressed.

And you most certainly sound like yet another Windows Phone/Mango astroturfer online.

        Try harder.

  8. Eddie says:

But it’s won’t be sim free at&t and tmobile .

  9. John says:

ME WANT THE ACE !!!!! :-D

  10. realtechie.. says:

not only this it will b the first windows lte enabled phone.

  11. Ari jaaksi says:

Lol…i can already see ballmer NeXT year.” We sent from very small to non existing”. Elop dont even have the balls to show up. Nice one elope, try to sell that phone for more than $50.

    • iceytoa1 says:

You sir, have a brain the size of a grain of salt.
      Anyway yeah quit trolling.

      1. Lots of people want Nokia Windows Phones (including me, I love my 5530 which has Symbian S60 I believe, but really don’t like Symbian^3 because in turn I don’t like Android which Symbian^3 is just a clone of)

      2. Yeah because obviously phones that are made to a premium quality, use the newest version of Windows Phone, have large, high quality screens, fairly large internal memory and high quality cameras (bar the Sabre which looks to fit in below these phones, I’d say on par with either the 500 or 600) are going to be sold for less than they’re lower phones.

Seriously just get out of here you troll.

  12. PJ says:

HSPA+ and LTE are two different things. HSPA+ is our current 3G network that for instance here in Sweden is running at 32Mbit/s. LTE is 3GPP release 8 (HSPA+ is rel.7) an is currently running at 80Mbit/s here in Sweden. HSPA+ is what AT&T calls 4G but is still called 3G(or 3,5G if you want) in the rest of the world.

  13. DC says:

    how much ram?

  14. Fasanating staff from Nokia. I really hope this time they claim the no:1 place.

  15. ksg91 says:

I am awaiting this phones.. :D

  16. Tiago Silva says:

    HSPA+ is not LTE.

  17. Neilamezhatsu says:

Nokia should not copy Samsung big screen models, instead they should increase the screen resolutions density.
Pliz, note that Peoples are 99% satisfy with 3.5″ to 3.9″ screen.

    • Lines says:

Pls. check the specs again and then read your comment. Please note that only nokia sun has 4.3″ screen, the rest is at 3.7″ screen. (“,)

    • Charlotte says:

People are not satisfied with 3.5″.

That is too small for smartphones. 3.7″ is the absolute minimum size. If you want smaller, then a feature phone or dumb phone is for you.

  18. FM says:

These are good news for Google & Co. No need to worry about it. It seems to me there is no difference between SeaRay and HTC Mozart from 2010?

    - max 16 GB memory inside (expected minimum 32 GB, better 64 GB)
    - no SD memory slot
    - 5 MP or 8 MP standard cameras (expected 12 GB camera from N8)
    - no HDMI
    - Single core chip only

Where are the “breathtaking” new Nokia Smartphones? Please Nokia, all your fans from all over the world are waiting for really exciting Nokia phones which bring you back to the top.

  19. Hung says:

I want product cell phone window phone of nokia: 4″ –> Good

  20. You are actually a excellent webmaster. The site loading pace is amazing. It seems that you are doing any unique trick. Also, The contents are masterwork. you have performed a wonderful task on this subject!

  21. I’ve really been waiting for a Nokia Android smartphone. Nokia was king of phones and they were so creative back in the day. If they can bring the creativity they had in the past to an Android device it would be awesome. Windows phones are a waste.
