Eldar reviewing the Nokia N9 (after saying he wouldn’t) lol.

| November 14, 2011 | 68 Replies

L. O. L.

After famously proclaiming that he would NOT review the Nokia N9, even he has gone back on his own word and has tweeted that he’s writing a review for it.

I can’t find the exact tweet anymore but we have some quotes, replies when asking if he would review the N9:

dont see any reason to spent my time on such rubbish

Not that most of our readers want to hear from him (as many often complain), but I just found it funny. I wonder what’s made him want to do that.

He hasn’t said anything scathing about Nokia in a while, so I guess that since he’s running out of material he kinda needs to back track and pick on the N9. He hurts the ones he loves really :p Like Symbian^3 which he reviewed, what, 3 or 4 times? I don’t think any Nokia fan even did that.

Perhaps he really just wasn’t in the know of N9 development and can accept that the N9 isn’t the rubbish he presumed it to be?

Funny guy.

Update: He’s continuing his rant of everything missing in N9.

Also someone asked him about the quote above on N9 being rubbish. He says Nokia asked him for a review and would pay 450.000USD (is the . supposed to be a , ?)

    He is so Mr. Bean.

I am still laughing at his “this is solid information” comment on that only 92000pcs of N9 were manufactured PERIOD.

    • Pachino Pulido says:

Yeah i know, am laughing too, who makes a statement like that, 92000 pcs? Which company would do that, theres no reason too.

Eldar needs to put his anti nokia feelings aside and do some honest journalism

  2. Kan says:

Eldar is a paid up anti-Nokia fanboy. He’s an Apple evangelist like Gruber and Siegler.

    • Jay Montano says:

It’s sad because there’s nothing he can say against the N9. The opinion from all the reviewers say it’s fantastic. His opinion (what ever you think of him) won’t really count other than to whine about N9.

We’ve already pointed out him complaining about the screen and resolution against SGSII when GSM Arena and Engadget praised it immensely, GSM Arena saying it’s on par and the resolution is higher on the N9 right?

      • Kan says:

Do you have any concrete sales figures for the N9?

In the end the N9 reads like a Greek tradegy – would probably make a decent play.

I would reserve a part for Eldar as a “Grima Wormtongue-esque” character.

      • apb says:

Eldar has forecast the demise of Nokia so frequently and so emphatically that his professional credibility is inextricably linked to this outcome becoming reality.

What on earth will he say if Nokia’s sales figures and profit “take-off’ ?

    • James says:

I thought he was a paid Samsung stooge?

  3. marty0907 says:

So he is financially broke now? He is doing it because Nokia wanted to pay him 450.000. This guy is not only untrustworthy, he is a liar. 450.000 USD to review a phone, why would Nokia want to pay him?

  4. Nrde says:

N9 isn’t perfect and many things could be better in it. I’m pretty sure that is all Eldar is going to write about.

So basically here is the short version of his upcoming review.

    - No apps
    - No bookmarks
    - Small screen
    - Pentile
    - No HDMI
    - Average camera (he will tell it’s rubbish)
    - Nokia made too many of them making him look like an idiot

  5. DGui says:

HAHA… He’s an idiot, so Nokia would really ‘kill’ a phone and then offer the guy that talks the most crap about them to review it?

  6. MyN900 says:

I’m tired of hearing about Eldar and I’m glad you haven’t had a story on him for a while.

The man should keep his mouth shut about Nokia (unless he has leaks :P ).

    • Pdexter says:

Exactly. I would really hope if people wouldn’t quote him at all.
It was the Nokia community that brought him up back in 2007-2008.

Lets not advertise him at least anymore. I stopped following his twitter year ago.

  7. DGui says:

This is one of his pictures on Twitter, why would a someone that ‘hates’ Nokia so much have one of these? http://twitter.com/#!/eldarmurtazin/media/slideshow?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftwitpic.com%2F758jyr Probably because it’s more feature-rich than his idiotic iPhone?

  8. Yeah, I completely “believe” him, or beliv to be on the same page with the guy. Eldar is so deluded I’m amazed he’s not in a straitjacket. But what I really don’t understand Jay, is why are you wasting an article on this guy?

  9. Mato56 says:

Hello! I found his camera comparison between different phones-yes even Nokia N8/N9 :) Funny stuff ;)

Who is Eldar? And Who Care him.

  11. SLAYER says:

Nokia PAID eldar to review the N9???? Is that even possible?

this guy is pathetic, probably one of his friends got the device, he took it for a spin and thought ‘hey I can get more traffic now’.

  12. mawire says:

Since we now know that all his reviews are paid for. He is no longer a reliable source for an independent objective review.

  13. Edmund says:

hah, sourpatch much? yup he’ll probably twist it to make it sounds so worthless that u should use a random android cos theirs have widgets lol.

  14. gordonH says:

tired the N9 in a Nokia store today…. Too impressive and super smooth, it’s the best phone in the market.

  15. jcar302 says:

This guys credibility is completely shot.
He should have stayed away from the n9 completely.

A 5th grader could have figured out that the phone was going to about 25 countries(nokia’s info), which would have only left 4000 or so per country, lol.

Somewhere along the line he must have predicted nokia’s collapse, so now he does his best to help it along.

What he doesn’t realize is that the mainstream public knows nothing of him, and the enthusiasts pretty much ignore him because of the dishonesty.
Soon he will fade into oblivion.

  16. aman says:

Heard about eldar back in june 2010 that he is the man who leaks nokia products too much, forgot him the next morning. These things like eldar are the things of past. No one likes to even piss off him.
U better had not wasted ur fingers moves on typing this article, Jay

Be careful not to make these mistakes again.

  17. jim says:

OMG Eldar is such a clown =)

  18. erzhik says:

Murtazin is a troll who lost all his cred. long time ago.

  19. Mendax says:

“Nokia N9. All icons in main menu in one place. No differentiation. One long list.”

–I’m not one to use unnecessary profanity, but what a fucking idiot. Really. Is anyone buying this?

  20. Mario says:

Off topic: Does anyone know if the Nokia 360 speaker is already for sale? I have been trying to locate one, but no luck so far…

  21. Oleg Derevenetz says:

This reminds me Eldar’s rants regarding iPhone and “178 critical iPhone flaws”, as well as his position regarding application development for iPhone in the past – “there is no technical opportunity to run third-party apps on an iPhone, period”. Such a funny guy :)

  22. de3fg says:

    Eldar is such a troll

  23. Ming Zhang says:

Best way to stop a troll like Eldar is to ignore him.

    1) Stop visiting mobile-review or his other websites

    2) Don’t follow his tweets

This will cut his funds to support him.

He’s writing a review on the N9 because he knows many many people are interested in it.

  24. casper says:

he’s such a shitass lol, no wonder no one takes him serious.

  25. Doffen says:

Eldar reviewing anything Nokia is like the devil reviewing the bible. The review may be technically accurate but is for sure misleading and biased. All possible flaws will be out of proportions and all good will be hidden or dismissed as unimportant. It’s a pity main stream blogs still gives his opinions any credibility.
