Leak or Fake: Nokia Lumia 601?
Remember that developer video where an unannounced Nokia Lumia Windows Phone appeared? Nokia subsequently pulled that video and replaced that with a Nokia Lumia 800.
Well, regular Nokia leakers PocketNow reckon that this might be the Nokia 601.
The front looks genuine but the back looks terrible. It looks like they’ve just wedged some random Camera (which PocketNow points out is the EDoF packing C7)
If anything, I’d expect the back to look more like the 700 (like the face)

Front: Real upcoming Nokia WP Device
Back: Fake photo shopped concept… Nokia can’t possibly use such back camera design. The design was carved from a Nokia C7 and Nokia normally keep their branding on the back of a device vertically rather than horizontal as shown in the picture.
Looking forward to this device.

I like the front. Assuming the design is real, why is nokia still using the design of symbian handsets now that they have had enough time to come up with new designs and the N9 excuse of not having enough time is no longer valid?

Fake. As mentioned several times here in the comments and on pocketnow the back looks photoshoped. And why should an low-end lumia “601″ have an 8MP camera where as the the lumia 710 has 5MP modul?
If it’s like Nokia 700 with WP7, I like it.
Fake. oh and Nokia never writes the word “Nokia” on the back horizontally in ANY phone. It’s always vertical.
U mean its always horizontal whereas this is vertical.. =P
Sorry but take a look at Asha series, the Nokia logo always written horizontally.
Yeah totally, i was just thinking the same as i was reading the posts. Although the phone in the article might be a shop, Nokia lettering on the back of phones is both horizontal and vertical.

I might be wrong, so I don’t want to conclude. But for me, the edges of the camera at the back really bugs me that this could be a Photoshop edit.

Because that IS the back of the 700. I was pointing out that is what I was expecting 601 to look like.
Ignore. The blue back image didn’t load the first time. I only saw the red.
photoshop!!!!! all over!! and an ugly one by the way,just look at the edges, and compare it with the front facing pic!, they just overlayed a huge blue rectangle! and the shdadows in the speaker grill dont match the back!

I’m not sure if the pictures are genuine or not however on a related subject, these constant product leaks by Nokia cannot be good for business. There’s a reason why many yet -to-be released products are confidential. For Nokias sake I hope it is a fake.

Front is real, back is fake. They mentioned it came from a reliable source. Time on video pic and this one is the same, just better quality. It could be that he/she just added the back to complete the image…
Nokia wouldn’t use 601 for a wp model, they already have a symbian model with that number. Also if the back is true then that’s the advent of edof cams for nokia wp!
There is no Symbian model 601. The Symbian models is 6XX range are 600(cancelled) and 603. I don’t remeber any other 6XX series Symbian phones..
