I played with one yesterday in store… I’m really considering it… that n8 successor may never show up.
Many rumors point to a MWC Announcement. Beside having an awesome camera,it will have a dual core CPU and will be preloaded with Symbian Carla.

Well, we know for sure there was some dualcore ST-Ericsson U8500 development in Nokia for Symbian Smartphones. These information appeared before a burning platform hysterical memo appeared though. I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce N8′s sucessor with dualcore based on Symbian Carla on MWC2012. Full dual-core support might be added later in Symbian Donna though.
As much as I know Symbian support dual processor, and by extension (I think) dual cores… I just time for Nokia to bring Symbian a better hardware, not just something that can do the job
How did you know this? As far as I know, there is not even a single Symbian phone with dual-processor or dual-core.
You’re probably right.
For the record, regular price is $369/$379 depending on colour. $70-$80 savings is still nice, but it’s not as impressive as a drop from $549 seems.
$550, c’mon, it wasn’t selling for that much a year ago, that’s bogus.
It’s more impressive that they still are selling it at all quite frankly. A lot of other US resellers don’t seem to stock it anymore, for example newegg amongst others.

the n9 sale in singapore is very poor, i harly see n9 users on the streets, btw, windows phone is a big fail here
Kinda mad that I paid $379 a few months ago but doubt my N95 would have made it till now. Considering buying another one for when this N8 dies – that way I can continue on w/out a data plan for many more years but I just don’t know if I want the same phone for like 6 years …
$380 actually isn’t bad either. the $300 price tag is for a very limited time. most places still have it at around (or even higher) than $380.

Around $300 is what I paid for my N8 new, six months ago, at Amazon (U.S.), but now it is still hovering at $389 (up $10 from about 2 months ago). I waited, and waited for the price to drop, and the amount I paid is the lowest I’ve ever seen it! I got 5 devices in 1, which at the time, was a good price at $300.
This device is over a year old, and no matter the functionality, there is no way (at least not for my money), that I would pay over $225 for this device at this point in time; even less if it is still available in 2012. And no, I don’t believe that Anna, or Belle, increases the value of this device.
For the next few, or several, hundred dollars I pay on a Nokia device in 2012, it will be built in 2012, and have some 2012 like specs included.
Anna has brought in some annoying data plan requirements with registration. Belle, Carla and Donna might make that worse. I suppose you could always just not upgrade.

HoFo, the best place for all your cell phone needs. Anna issues are confirmed. Worsening is speculation on my part, but Nokia has made several worrying moves away from having control over your data usage on Symbian, whittling one of the last OS level reasons for choosing it away.
We didn’t have much advertisement here. When it comes to show, people here know it’s Apple or Android. Come on damn it, step up that presentation… And yeah. Pffffft, Twilight.

I totally thought this was going to be the N8, the description for it was a feature packed unlocked phone that was at a good price. They hid the type of phone and the price, but when they finally released it, it was the 700
