#N9Hacks: Nokia N9 6X8, 48 icon app grid or even Symbian-like 2×6/3×4
Hey this is a pretty cool N9 Hack. For fans of Michael’s N9Hacks series, hope you don’t mind me placing this cool one in where you can change the grid of the N9. I think we’ve seen before where they’ve made the N9 icons larger but not to the point where the grid pattern has changed. (This video is by the same guy that did the landscape N9 thing)
- Standard is 4×6 (well 5 if you only count complete icons).
- Here they have a crazy 6×8! 48 icons!
If you want, you can even do a reverse all the way to Symbian.
You could almost pretend it’s the Nokia Donna with Swipe! Though I hope the grid increases to 4 column at least.
This is almost 3X5 but what’s visible in full (no chopped of icons) is 3×4

That is so awesome. I love the N9 more with every passing hack.
I have had this ready to be drafted for a few weeks but after a hack went fatally wrong (caused me to flash)postponed the post. Glad you beat me to it

Ah cool. I did check previous drafts if this was there but nothing recently. Must have missed it if it was a few weeks back. If you are planning on doing it again we could always revisit
Any for me, no, I’m not putting hacks into my n9. I’d find it too hard to report on general bugs and issues if I can’t isolate what’s causing it :p
That’s why I don’t put unofficial stuff on my phones. Worse is if I have to flash like yours. Ha. I’ve become used to never needing to hard reset/wipe my phone. But if there’s a hack yet that isn’t covered in the posts or scheduled for drafts, I’ll chime in
i only wish meego gets more more more apps so it scrolls longer hehehehehhe

At least I hope it takes cues from the N9, I mean Nokia could easily use Symbian as an experimental platform.
is there a manual guide to have this hack using terminal?
add pinch & zoom to this and it would be perfect, so you can change between 3-4-6 icons/row!
and make it an app… i don’t dare to do this hacks..

surprised there isnt an option to make it look like WP the long list of like 1x? that would be pretty cool actually
Next version of the hack to remove colour from icons and make them square with annoying flippy smaller squares.
Mine didn’t work. It made my icons small yet it’s the same 4×6 grid. Any word for this?
