Mega Price Drop, Nokia N9 64GB for 449EUR! (£372) at FNAC Portugal!

| January 13, 2012 | 37 Replies

Right on the front page for FNAC Portugal is a bargain basement price of 449 EUR for the Nokia n9 64GB. In GBP that’s £372! You might pay that just for the 16GB at some retailers. Actually even from the same store, FNAC is selling the 64GB at 80Euros cheaper than the 16GB version.

This comes with 24 hour shipping :) AT 64GB, that’s 4 times more memory than the 16GB version. You really won’t ever have to worry about what’s going on your phone for quite a while.

Thanks André for the tip!

Why did I felt that I *must* have it last october…

  2. Marcel says:

Damn… and I just bought me an additional Cyan one to my black 64 GB for 495 €…

  3. Ash says:

N9 price has dropped a lot and some are even selling their N9′s after a week in our own local buy and sell site? I guess they’re not liking the Meego OS and I’m stumped because I love my N9!! I plan to get the white one when it comes out. The 16gb just ain’t enough.

  4. dip86 says:

Oh no! I’ve finally gone and bought it – came to £391 and a bit delivered and then my bank charges another 2%..so more like £400.

More than I should really be spending on a phone tbh but I’ve waited too long for this badboy already.

  5. Georgios says:

if they release an update beyond 1.2 I ll get a blue one just for the sake of it

  6. CSSThemes says:

if the price hadn’t drop, the phones just wouldn’t sell. We Portuguese people are mobile geeks, but to pay the initial €729.90, that FNAC was asking for the N9, was just too much for nowadays economic situation.
The iPhone dominance (high end phones)is about to end =P

  7. Mauro says:

i want N9 with Symbian!!! not meego

    • please says:

why would anyone want that garbage on anything

      • Jaydee says:

Actually, he does have a point there.. I can imagine Belle/Carla having a Cortex Arm A8 processor with 1gb ram with updated gpu support, Symbian will surely fly.. The apps. on Symbian is already n will always be alot more than Meego will ever have.. I have both the N8 n the N9 they both gets the same lurve.

  8. jr says:

guess sales are not going well for Meegoo

  9. Tiago Silva says:

Damn, I live in Lisbon and I bought one for 100€ more last week from amazon.de…

  10. can't be helped says:

better to wait until pr1.2 roll out for everyone, then go and buy two n9 16G (cyan and ,magenta)for me and someone

  11. StefanP says:

That’s good news, even though I paid more for mine. PR1.2 and a very reasonable price should give it another push. One usability improvement in PR1.2 is that you land where you came from. E.g. closing an app which you started from the main screen (app laucher) will bring you back to this screen, not the multitasking view. (I think this was mentioned by Konttori)
Recently I compared my N9 with a friends WP (7.5, but not Nokia). He was impressed, but his phone was much cheaper.
Lowered prices should help the virulent widening of the N9 user base even in areas with no marketing efforts. And a large user base is good for all of us N9 users!

    • j says:

well i still think that the n9 isn’t cheap. look at the chipset etc. ithink nokia is making good profits on every n9 sold.
not like with the agressive priced lumias.

(and i strongly demand from nokia, that n9 profits are used for the n9 ecosystem)

  12. rich says:

looks like they don’t deliver to the UK though

    • dip86 says:

They do. I bought one. Look for Reino Unido in the country list. Shipping cost another €20. You bank might charge a separate amount for paying in euros also. Cost me just under £400 delivered in total – should ship by dhl today.

  13. Jonathan says:

Or you could go back to Expansys as they have just dropped the floor on the 64GB price and it is now £445. This is only £15 more than the £16GB one and they have a bunch in stock.

I’ve just sent my 64GB back to Amazon.de (I live in the UK) as the screen wasn’t fitting right and I had a sharp edge where the glass joined the body (Finland made, not Chinese). As soon as I get the refund I’ll be back for another and who knows what the price will be then.

fyi nokia n9 ist available again on the fnac.pt site.
