You will need to edit the css files relating to the application. The apps can be found by looking in /usr/share/applications (look inside .desktop files to identify where they link to). These css files will need to be altered to include the font of your choice. I can fiddle with it, and get back to you. Will take a while as my N9 dev is slow as I am using SSH and VNC

No. It may be a difference if his is from China or Finland, and yours is the other. I wouldn't worry, unless you are noticing a big difference in the operation in the device. If you are concerned though, I would suggest, just for peace of mind, contact Nokia directly.

Thanks michael. im a bit relaxed after hearing this. after how many days approximately did it fix itself? my phone seems to display 23fps action all throughout the UI, where as my friends older n9 is like 29fps. he doesnt even take proper care of it and has damaged it physically(bumps on the road also)
should i return the phone? or should i wait for a few more days ?also, the USB transfer speed is low at 3-4 mbps on average :( whereas it should be min. of 9 mbps ,as ive seen

Just understood what you meant. You will be needing /home/user/.fonts It won't exist so you will need to create it. use mkdir /home/user/share/.fonts in terminal :)
