Correction...
It may have many more quality apps than Symbian one day if the rumors about Meltemi are true.
But only if apps developed for top-end Meltemi devices, are built in much the same way as Maemo6x.
Remains to be seen, we just don't know enough at this point.

Of course not....
Why would you expect the ecosystem to be as big as Symbian's? (fragmented as it is).
Quality ratio is higher, but total no. of quality apps is smaller.
It'll never be as big as Symbian, iOS, Android, or WP.
But that's quite beside the point...
It has been growing steadily, & should be more than enough for the avg user.

There's also always the occasional gems "off the grid".
Once you work out all the best little places to find them.

Look the only way to be 100% sure...
Is buy from a place that has a 1mth+ return policy, or borrow one from friends/family.

You shouldn't need truck loads of apps anyway.
Once PR1.2 hits....
Maemo6x will arguably have more functionality built-in than any other OS.

Cool thanks, so are apps better than abysmal effort on Symbian? I had a play with an N9 at my local store and found it had quite a few applications which are available for N8 as well as some which must be N9 only...

I use my N9 as primary phone and I really do not miss much. The only thing I miss is not being able to sync my N9 calendar with Outlook using Nokia Desktop.

As for everything else, the phone is good enough for majority of tasks like email, phone(yeah phone), web browsing, listening to internet radio and so on.

Can anyone comment on N9 app situation right now, months after its launch - is MeeGo/Harmattan platform mature enough to be used everyday? Coming from N8 owner in AUS.

You are confusing transmitter with receiver. FM Radio/receiver works fine.

There's no way to enable transmitter currently, and probably won't be.
