Rafe and the All About Windows Phone app for your Nokia Lumia
As I said before, we don’t normally talk about new app releases for WP because there are just to many (and already try to restrict WP app content just to Lumiappadays).
However, I got contacted by Rafe Blandford from AAS and AAWP who launched an app yesterday for All About Windows Phone. No we aren’t going to talk about all the WP blog’s apps – Rafe’s AAWP is an exception given how it came about out of All About Symbian (the team is the same).
I had planned on demoing it myself but yesterday got a lot busier than I had expected (hence lateness of today’s posts – though my Virgin Media internet routinely keeps dying too around midnight so if I miss scheduling my posts, I can’t seem to post).

We’re pleased to announced that the official AAWP (All About Windows Phone) app is now available to download free from the Windows Phone Marketplace. The app is packed full with everything you need to know as it happens including latest articles, device, app and game reviews, tutorials, opinion-editorials, links, media and podcasts. You can now easily browse, read and share all the essential news quickly and easily on the move and the live tile support will notify you when new articles are available so you can stay ahead of the game. Once you’ve found something of interest you can share it with friends on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or email. If you need to know something specific, you can search for a related article in the handy search tool. What makes the app even more appealing is you can join in the discussion and add your own comments via the app.
Key features of the AAWP app:
- Browse all the content from the All About Windows Phone website
- Listen to episodes of the AAWP Insight Podcast
- Search for previous content with optional section and date filters

OMG, what is that? S60v5 UI is better!
That’s fair, you’re entitled to your opinion.
In what ways do you think S60v5 is better? Let me remind you though that you typed S60v5, but go ahead.
my opinion, wp7 ui is the worst among all mobile phone platfroms ui.
In what way is it “the worst among all mobile platforms ui”?
Bear in mind this post is about an app and so I’m expecting feedback and constructive criticism about this app.
nice application. this is the first time I like metro ui.
Note: I dont have a Windows phone, just going on from the article
I was expecting it to just be a glorified RSS feed, but with offline functionality and podcast streaming etc, looks much more functional. Good job overall. Now if only they would launch a good Symbian app for AAS
Looks really nice. On a side note, Ive always admired them because of their somewhat of a professional rather than casual attitude. Was really pleased when they launched AAWP. Anyway how about merging both and the maemo/MeeGo one and calling it All About Nokia. Would make it a lot easier to find info on All Things Nokia.
Nice app, so clean and fast, and with good features. I will sure install it when I have got my first Nokia Windows Phone.
Installing… BTW, I really like how easy it is to install apps with your browser while working (ermm…
on your computer. Click, click, click, and there’s a new app on your phone.
Thanks for posting this Jay. Much appreciate.
@rahul – a basic AAS app does exist (using Ovi App Wizard), but yes it would be nice to something more advanced. We’ll see.
@adnan – watch this space
@peter – thanks, looks forward to +1 on download numbers!
@jim – thanks, tried to respect metro and tie to AAWP look / colours
