Nokia in top 10 in Sweden for January
Nokia have apparently made it back to the top 10 charts in Sweden. according to ComputerSweden.
Progress, however large or small is good to document as we can see if Nokia’s efforts are at least heading in the right direction. I think last week, we saw a couple of instances where Lumias had appeared in the top sales chart, (1, 2) so it’s good to see that trend gradually continuing (with relatively ‘humble’ devices).

Nokia’s portfolio of devices is only set to look even stronger come MWC, with stars in Symbian, WP and S40. However, so will the competition’s. We know Nokia has what it takes to get the edge, it’s just whether they can actually ever execute it. In terms of imaging they are set to yet again demolish the competition with the recently teased PureView.
What’s interesting is that the sales data is for Sweden in January. 1) it’s the first time Nokia was in the top 10 since 8 months apparently. 2) The Lumia has only been launched in Sweden on January 23rd. Folks seem to be warming up to the Lumia despite the concerns and even ill-wishes of doubters.
Cheers Lars for the tip!
BTW, thanks to the Lumia, Windows Phone is now in the top 3, pushing out, unfortunately, Symbian.

- Nokia Lumia 800 In Swedish Top Ten For January | Nokia News | February 23, 2012

Nokia has 3 devices in the top 5 charts by rating on GSMarena with the N9 on top!! Have not seen this in a long while from Nokia!!
That is pretty awesome. Nokia still has a very huge community online for voting
Also, does N8 have the most votes in total (not rating level).
the most of the rating have been ruled by nokia on gsmarena frm a long tym.
Why don’t Nokia make a N9 successor since it’s doing well in reviews?
What if answer is “stupidity”? This is not good idea to hesitate lojal users who have choseen N9 as successor.
Unfortunately they are N9, 701, & N8, hahaha
Nokia N9 outsells 3 Lumia combined together 3 to 1 as N9 is just much better phone. Thats all.
Pretty good result concidering that Lumia was on sale only one week.
In UK and France, WP seems have reached the 2% wall of market share in January, according to Kantar. If this trend continues, with 3 more devices sold worldwide, the 8/10% at the end of 2012 could be easily reached!
And stat counter continues to confirm this positive trend: go on Lumia!
Lumia 800 is also number two in the ranking on Sweden’s leading price comparing site (Prisjakt):

Why would it not be liked. This is a great device.
GO LUMIA!!!

now im morbidly curious about what he posted. D=
They just copied and pasted some stuff they said they found on wikipedia and looked to start a flame war I guess. If they had posted it once I might have thought they wanted an honest discussion but they just kept posting it again and again and I am very much against SPAM. It is the only thing I remove (and other inappropriate/illegal software links etc).
Sorry by mistake, but guilty as charged
Be my guest: see about Issues here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_Lumia_800 and make own comment, mine would be spam
I am completely OK with people arguing for or against Nokia products. I am not OK however with the same comment haphazardly spammed into every post.
Now to address your comment of “Do you reallly want this shity sth instead of MeeGo or Symbian? Are you nuts???”
Well, it’s not as simple. Different people want different things. There are traits only Nokia/Symbian can offer, and likewise, for Lumia. The issues you point out are not as widespread or as destructive of certain expected user experiences.
IF you can’t compare better and worse phone you will not notice any difference. If you try both N9 advantages are obvious. Point is: if you can’t make choise by your own, this is not fair, this is against freedom IMHO. And how do you know this is not a spreading? Do you know all users? Strange to me.
Let me get this right, your point is allowing consumers to make the choice? Well ideally yes. You will have to bring that up with management.
whose management?
whose management?
nice trolling … your mother who died of AIDS will be very proud of you
Well seems that any critical approach to Lumia is unacceptable – this is how multilions dollars are put into Lumia marketing, but still this is creapy in comparison to N9. Some countries dont have free market as N9 is forbidden to sell in many core makets like Ireland, England, Germany, US and so on. then tell me: how it is possible without marketing support that full linux Meego and N9 outsells 2 Lumias? How about this is much better phone? Would you like to try it? You can’t if you are in country with established Limias monopoly or N9 proibition. You are not allowed to buy N9 even if you want. This is damn restrictions by Windows monopoly. I want to be free and have MY OWN FREE choice. I tried both lumia and N9, and absolutely N9 is winner, ba all means. (but I have friends in Poland who has made ma a present. A person from wild eastern country buy me a better phone which I can’t buy at the corner in capitalism? How estraoridinary!…)
why not you go support the reportedly FORTY MEGAPIXEL SUPER DUPER AWESOME NOKIA PHONE instead? you seem to have alot of energy, its better used that way =)
This is not THAT easy. All Lumias have ACTA-SMS bug which makes tahy can be disactivated by sertain characters send via SMS. This is prohibited knowledge in countries where lumias are, but N9 is forbidden to sell. And this is manipulation, against users IMHO. That is why my emotional post gone, besides of unacceptable nuts. Windows Phone is ACTA-ready. Worth to know.
Once Again …. nice trolling … your mother who died of AIDS will be very proud of you …
“Well seems that any critical approach to Lumia is unacceptable ”
Who are you referring to? If you are suggesting that I removed your comment because it was critical to Nokia/Lumia no, I removed it because you were spamming the same comment everywhere. I didn’t really read the comment, I just saw the same comment appear in various posts.

You prefer N9, that’s great. Good for you. I can understand why, it has many amazing features. Perhaps respect that other people might find something else more appropriate and hence are not necessarily “nuts” because they prefer something that YOU do not.
“Nuts” were unacceptable – once again SORRY. I just regret those who can’t compare them as I did.
“then tell me: how it is possible without marketing support that full linux Meego and N9 outsells 2 Lumias?”
Well, to begin with, it isn’t.
Good news. They need this! At least we see new fans of Nokia via their Lumia brand.
I am leaving but this seems need deeper expalantion. ACTA-SMS is a trap for all WP, including Lumia, users. Practices with restrictions for N9 are against free competition and free acces to goods on market, hence also against EU regulations. Last ACTA “events” show things are quite not fair, think it over – before removing post. Removing is tool agains lies or vulgar words (sorry, again). But when even true words are removed we have censorship. Internet is creation of free people for free people to be more happy. Not to be more slaves. Wish you all good day.
I have no intention of censoring the comments of users. You SPAMMED. Repeated spammed comments are removed. If you do not understand this then I am sorry. I don’t know how to reconcile this difference.
It doesn’t matter what the content of the posts are. Littering your own message, no matter how true you believe will not do your campaign any justice. It will just annoy people who do not want to be spammed. I don’t have time to sift through all the thousands of comments. If you spam, it is marked as spam. End Of.
What did you post? I’m curious. ACTA-SMS bug?
I dislike WP too, but no system is 100% bug free. I don’t say WP is bad, it just doesn’t fit with my style. Different people have different preference. Nokia’s strategy seems weird, your restaurant will be bigger if you provide various menu. We also don’t need to panic, Android is similar with Symbian. It is Nokia that need to panic if we leave.
My suggestions for you : keep enjoying your N9, promote it to your friends, buy N9 again if you have money, & buy Android if N9 is discontinued. I think Nokia will rethink its strategy if Lumia sales is unsatisfactory or not large enough.
i wonder what direction nokia will take, in case the symbian based phones and the meego? N9 will increase in sales…
just me , u do raise some good points , but please don’t spam . Zipa , the N9 may not be full Linux , but it did outsell the Lumias ( 710 & 800 ) last quarter 2-1 , despite very limited advertising and only being introduced on one major market , China . That’s truly remarkable ! Nokia needs to bring out a N9 successor and make it widely available or else they need to merge Symbian and Meego , which I don’t really see happening as long as Elop is CEO .By the same token , if some of the rumours I’ve heard r true , Carla and Donna r supposed to make Symbian much more like Meego …
As for WP , while I believe it has some potential , as a friend in IT pointed out , it takes 3 years to get a new OS reliable enough . I think Nokia was right to include WP and it will help I’m thinking , but let’s be honest : relying on an unproven OS is sheer lunacy ; right now WP is immature , seriously late to the party , and there r too many other OEMs trying to get a piece of the action . The Lumias r doing well at the moment , but who knows whether that will continue ? And so far , WP hasn’t exactly taken off …
