Videos: Disassembly, Nokia Lumia 710 screen repair, N8 FM transmitter fix + more
Aha. Another video collected from yesterday. This time, a disassembly of the Nokia Lumia 710, specifically for replacing the display.
There are various disassembly videos you might want to watch too. Ever since my failed attempt at changing the N82 cover, I swore never to take apart a phone :p. But for those that want to, here’s what to do for the Lumia 710.
Usual points: doing so invalidates your warranty. If you break it, that’s your fault.
Back to the 710, apparently this one is super easy to disassemble
“This has to be one of the simplest I have done so far, no Torx screws and no having to force the case open.
5 stars to Nokia for making a phone everyone can fix themselves

Neat! But I’m still too nervous to prop mine open. The FM Transmitter has been pretty weak for me tho.
I replaced one broken screen with a new cloned part few weeks ago. I had to watch LE55ONS’s video for that particular model/screen fix couple times while doing it, but it turned out well enough.
Originally I had asked from phone shop how much it would cost to fix the screen but it was out of my budget. My phone was broken for quite a while but then I happened to run into one of these videos and decided to try fixing it myself. Ordering the part took few weeks, but at the moment the phone is again in use and it was way less than half of the phone shop’s price.
what phone did you replace
It was C7′s screen.
Only real problem was that adhesive tape, but the screen was broken anyway so the difference between slightly cracked and completely shattered one didn’t matter.
Hard to find decent/comprehensive tear-downs of the N9.
Really frustrating…..
If anyone knows if anything, please share.
You’re right. Nothing as comprehensive as the ones for the likes of N8 etc.

I’m trying to get hold of an N9, I’ll post on here when I’ve done it
@LE55ONS
That’s great news, I hope it’s an exhaustive/thorough tear-down.
Either way thank you for offering to share your findings!
I’m actually planning to replace the housing of my N9 soon.
So I was going to do a tear-down, & possibly a FMTX mod.
(Apparently the latter should be fairly trivial)
But you may beat me to the tear-down part…
What do u do when one of the screws is stuck and would’t come off???
Hi Frances,
What do you do when you necro-post, & post in a silly place to get answers for an issue you’re having?
I was going to say drill the head off with a small drill
I have no idea what ‘necro-post’ mean?
Here ya go….

I’ve learned something new, thank you
One of my coworker let me borrow a better tool,,,than the ones I got with my screen…
