Video: Series 40: Test your Apps with the free Remote Device Access service

| April 11, 2012 | 3 Replies

This video is about RDA, remote device access, where you can test your apps in other handsets that you might not actually have – so  you test devices remotely.

This video will give an introduction to using Remote Device Access (RDA) to test your apps for Series 40 phones. See how to access the service onhttp://www.developer.nokia.com, select a phone, and start the RDA client. Then discover how to install your application, run it, and perform testing. You also get an introduction to the more advanced features of RDA, including adjusting the display quality to optimise performance, accessing the phone’s file system, and taking screenshots among others.

For Series 40 developers globally, the addition of Series 40 phones to the Nokia Developer RDA service means that testing apps on multiple phones is now convenient, easy, and above all free of charge.

For more information, visit http://www.developer.nokia.com/RDA or follow the RDA service on twitter http://www.twitter.com/nokia_rda.

      Hi Prashant.

When I find a story, if I cannot write it at the time, i put it in a list (link + tipper name if applicable).

I am subscribed to NokiaDevForum and get emails instantly whenever they publish videos.

      “nokiadevforum just uploaded a video:….

You can unsubscribe from notifications for this user by visiting My Subscriptions.”

You should know that I always credit you and everyone for the posts if that’s where I saw the story from (unless things are hectic and lots of people have tipped the same story and we thank ‘everyone’). Sometimes it is impossible to keep going through every tip and I just stick with the basic list I’ve put ready.

      Hope that clears it up.

p.s. I edited the post now but note, if it happens again it’s not intentional.

I’ve already put up a list for some other stories which I just don’t have the time, yet again, to write up. There may be a chance that I don’t see additional tips by more people for the same story when I come to write up those stories…
