Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak Lining up to buy Nokia Lumia 900?
What’s this about? Co Founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak seems to be looking to buy a Nokia Lumia 900 too! Well he’s checking for availability, ‘wasting time’ eating breakfast waiting for AT&T store to open.
Whilst a prominent figure in the Apple world, Wozniak has been previously seen with handsets of competitors and actually complimenting them. We hope perhaps the same thing goes for the Lumia 900. Now will he go for black or blue? Hopefully there will be stock as reports are going around that they’re out of stock at various AT&T stores. It would also be funny if we hear an unknown AT&T rep still trying to push an iPhone despite the 900 being their current ‘flagship’.
Cheers Janimatik for the tip!

Elop paid or threatened him to tweet that.
That, or Woz is one of the biggest hearts in tech. And a genuine gadget buff. Which he is, both, unlike his late founding partner.
Correct, that’s just unacceptably insulting to Wozniak.
yeah Wozniack is a great guy he’s who you wish was the PR guy for Apple
Well, most Nokia employees use iPhone and Android. You won’t see anyone of them on twitter that uses a Nokia.
http://www.cultofmac.com/98089/nokia-ceo-wants-his-employees-using-iphones/
Yes, some do. Quit many, though probably not most. Were you trying to imply this is a bad thing?
Elop wanted Nokia employees to use competing phones so they know what they’re up against and what to improve. Hardly anyone at Nokia using anything but a Nokia is possibly why they ended up falling so far behind.
Being myopic as a whole didn’t make things good for Nokia. At least there are signs of trying to stage a fight faster than what RIM’s doing. And they aren’t looking good, that’s for sure.
Still positive though, the Lumia sales shows signs of going up, 900′s currently doing ok with more launch markets to go, and Apollo might be what Nokia needs. With the tablet, and the turnaround may be complete.
Yes exactly. The more Nokia employees that actually use competing devices, the better, as they will know how to better compete and improve upon the competition.
Losing stock? You mean running out of stock, Jay?
I say the news of stuff selling out is good news that Nokia’s still enjoys some relevance in the US with the right product.
I really can’t wait for Q3 and see Apollo arrive.
Ah yes, posting with bleary eyes. Just woke up from a nap, felt ill and dizzy >_>
Thanks for the heads up.
Looks like you aren’t the only one who’s sleepy. Hahaha.
And wonder if Bill Gates can be seeded with a L900 too. XD
I just wish that Apollo will really be Q3 and preferably Nokia World release, and not later.
It’s good that Wozniak is showing interest, will be interesting to hear his thoughts on it.
Admittedly, he shows interest in almost everything, and you can be sure he’ll have something good to say about it.
That is a right choice. When it comes to art,IOS looks very ugly.the best two is meego(expect icons, they just don’t fit the whole thing) and WP7/8,then would be belle fp1 and original andriod 4.0 ics.IOS the worst of 4.I don’t know why people think ios looks good,do these people know art,or just following other people?only advantage of ios is those apps and games.
If you’re making the art argument, Android is the best because the UI can be heavily customised to whatever you like, therefore making your art much more personal.
Assuming you know what you are doing, and what you like.
I can say whether something looks good, but that doesn’t mean I could design it (= set it up like that)
There are tons of people doing Android UIs though. I’m not fond of most of them, but it’s not like you need to design everything, you just need one that you like, customise it with your own wall paper and have a few toggles and sliders for the other looks.
Yes, but in the end every android UI lags more than its default.
Not really. Custom launchers is really good. Unstable, but really good.
No Symbian far better and can be heavily customised to whatever you like too.
Really? Symbian is more customizable now? Seriously are you that deluded?
I want my device to behave like a iOS device. How would I do that?
I want my apps to be able to inform me stuff by checking the draw down notification bar. Can they do that?
I want my phone to be smart enough to use different default browsers when I use either opera, stock, or dolphin browser. Can they do that?
I want to be able to set a default browser AND and the smartphone will you know follow that default instead of being so badly coded that it just ask you to fuck off instead?
My list is no means universal, but I think I proven my point.
This is one thing about you guys. Stop trying to rewrite facts.
Um, you can:
Settings> Application Settings> Default Applications> Browser Internet> [insert your favorite browser here]
I’ve used iOS, android Donut, Eclair, Froyo and Gingerbread, S^3, Anna and Belle. If you want customization, Symbian is they way to go. Right off the bat the user can choose different themes that change how the UI looks entirely, without having to root or jailbreak. I already detailed how to change default apps and different wallpaper for every home screen have been there since S^3 (someone chime in if S60 v5 did as well). With Pano Wallpaper, you can even divide a wallpaper up so it will scroll through all one long wallpaper like on Android.
There’s different shells you can use and if you want to get into cooking firmware, you can change a hell of a lot more.
I’m explaining this because “arts” flew off the handle with one of the most Symbian-ignorant spazz attacks I’ve ever read.
I am well aware of what I am talking about.
I refer you to an article written on 2010 which shows how long this problem persisted and how much you understand the platform you are trying to defend. Perhaps you misunderstood me.
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/item/12329_How_to_change_the_default_web_.php
Look at noticeable caveats.
Now following the steps you gave me, I will run the default mail application and click on a link. Obviously I would expect it to run opera mobile right? WRONG.
This is not limited to system apps, which in itself is unforgivable, but other apps as well. Try it on facinate if you don’t believe me.
http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/item/12329_How_to_change_the_default_web_.php
And all the other things you have mentioned? Android can do and can do better. Rooting is not required for cosmetic customization and with rooting symbian won’t even come close.
Again. Any devs using the draw down notification yet? android certainly can.
I don’t mean to shit on anybody. But if somebody comes up and say symbian is the best in this or that I would expect they are willing to defend that statement. Which was guest and not you.
arts , u r aware , I trust , that the articles u linked to r for the original Symbian 3 ? I also trust that u r also aware that there have been 2 updates ( Anna & Belle ) since then , 3 if u use the 603 , 700 or the 701 ? Kind of undermines ur argument …
I’ve used both Android ( Eclair , Froyo , Gingerbread ) and Symbian 3 ( original , Anna , Belle ) and while Android is good , Symbian’s better at customisability . Much of Symbian’s customising options r built in , while with Android , some of these option require third party apps . Cheers !
I’m well aware that I linked an old article, however I am using a n8 running belle.and replicated the same problem. I concede that thing might be different for the newer belles running belle fp1, which kinda begs the question… why?
Cheers to you too.
Anyway let’s agree to disagree on android customizability. I am typing on one to reply you right now and my feeling is completely opposite if yours.
so you will call a blank canvas a greater piece of art than a painting done by Picasso? customization is good but don’t call it art especially looking at how wonderful the ui is on most Android phones (sarcasm)
I don’t care how much those stupid investors think of Nokia, I think its a gold mine for me.
I’ve purchased almost 30,000 shares yesterday at 4.02 USD each after the announcement of Q1 result. I have faith in Nokia under Elop’s rule
Wow! You may be able to retire in 3 or 4 years lol.
You are brave. I almost threw up yesterday seeing the stock go up and down. And I only own 2,000 shares.
*like*
Good for you. Those idiot investors will look back one day and wishes that they bought stock in 2012.
I also bought 20K shares this morning.
Those haters will mock us, but we will be laughing at them in the coming years.
Thank you! You have just limited my looses and helped me save what could be saved. This way I can invest this money with growing business and use opportunities. God bless you!
Thank you very much!
“It would also be funny if we hear an unknown AT&T rep still trying to push an iPhone despite the 900 being their current ‘flagship’.”
Meh, I’m not sure if that was just sarcasm because:

But that was almost a week ago!
Yes, it was reference to that. I did start a couple of posts when the news broke but never got around to publishing.
I remember he went to Google to get a Galaxy Nexus before launch, it’s good the Lumia good enough for him to consider one too
Probably wants to compare & see how they can improve the iphone … you gotta know your competition.
Then he should have gotten an N9..
another childish pub for Nokia, when Nokia pay AT&T carrier million to sell this phone.
C’moon, this is Woz we’re talking about. Have some respect. He’s just checking out new tech like always.
nokia is growing up hehe..
Well Steve is a hardware guy, be interesting to hear what he thinks about it.
A true tech fan, and godfather.
The Woz is awesome. As awesome as Nolan Bushnell. It’s gotta be a treat for Nokia’s OR team to read this.
Being the old-school hacker* he is, the N9 would be “way” more up Woz’s alley.
Sad thing is, he probably doesn’t even know it exists…
*understand the term, not cracker.
english dude…english…
