Nokia 808 PureView Sim Free White appears on Tesco (UK)
I’m not sure if this is a placeholder, but Tesco Direct has a product page for the Nokia 808 PureView!
Could Tesco (UK) sell the Nokia 808 PureView? Tesco is the second largest retailer in the world by profit (after Walmart)

At the moment, the tesco sidebar says:
Sorry, there are currently no sellers for this product.
Perhaps, hopefully, one will appear soon. It says on the side that this product is included the Tesco clubcard exchange. I’ve only ever shopped once or twice at Tesco Direct – can 3rd party sellers sell through Tesco?
Cheers Mapantz for the tip

I really hope Tesco offers the 808 on some form of contract….
Tesco bring it contract you know u wanna
..
I mentioned in the tip that this has shades of the Nokia N8 on it.
The same thing happened when i was waiting to buy my N8 from them, when they did finally put the phone up for sale (1 month rolling contracts) the phone was £100 cheaper than anywhere else. I’m hoping the same will happen with the 808. Fingers crossed!
Just a side note. I bought an N8 from Tesco and every time an update comes along, they are always 2 – 3 months behind other product codes. Only just got the Belle update late May.
Yeah, updates are terrible from them, but speaking to them, they claim it’s Nokia’s fault, as it’s them that have to pass the firmware before it gets released.
It doesn’t bother me now, not since i learnt how to use Phoenix, and it won’t break your warranty either.
I highly doubt it is nokia fault as i read it took tesco over 3 months to approve a ics update for a android phone.
I do believe that nokia issued the wrong unlatching codes to tesco on the nokia n8s tho.
Thanks for the tip!
I bought my nokia n8 from them on release because their price if memory serves me right was £320 (on pay as you go ) compared to nokia website of £425 for the sim free version.
Tesco sold it even before o2 which i found surprising considering they piggy back the 02 network.
If tesco do sell this phone on pay as you go for a cheaper price theirs a few things to consider..
With my n8 I was hoping that i could use my 02 sim card init because they piggy back their network i thought it would work. But the phone was double locked meaning it would cost £20 to unlock or it was free after one year. I chose the latter.
Nokia sent out the wrong unlocking codes to tesco meaning that the phone had to be sent back in to be unlocked by cable.
Tesco are really slow at releasing updates so i recommend phoenix to update, however theirs very little software branding on the phone just a few bookmarks.
I have £100 of clubcard vouchers to spend worth £200 for phones so hopefully ill sell my n8, and not have to spend to much to get my hands on it, providing of course they do actually end up selling it!
I like how it says “Customers who bought this also bought” etc on Tesco’s page. It’s not even up for sale yet
