Video and Gallery: Nokia 305/306 pics and hands on demo

| June 8, 2012 | 21 Replies

OK, next up, Nokia Asha 305/306 hands on and a quick gallery. This one had a cable stuck at the back so it was harder to take pics of it.

The main difference with the 311 is that the 305 and 306 have resistive displays. It needs a little pressure so you can’t do that effortless finger swiping that you can on capacitive. 305 is the dual sim version.

Hey Jay , had u played with all three asha phones there?
If yes , please answer my few questions:
    1. If asha 311 have a multitouch display or not? Had u pinch zoomed the pics on it?

    2. I know all three have accelerometer , but does the whole UI works through the landscape mode also(including the homescreens ) or just in image gallery & web browser?

    3. Does the native apps(like calender , dialer , alarm etc.) on these asha have same UI as previous touch & type ashas or different?

    Thanx

You could feel the guy’s passionate about discussing the data consumption.

Obviously though, the 311 should be the no brainer device. You could really see the difference with the smoothness and the response comparing 306 and 311. Why didn’t just Nokia make it all capacitive? Would the costing drastically change the price???

Yes. Even if it’s a couple dollars that’s a very high % of the phone’s BOM. Harder to add €5 inside a €60 device than a €600 device

    can the asha 311 multitasking?

you said if 315 has a resistive multitouch, so can that fone do pinch zoom?

Hey Jay, what did you shoot the video on?

    thanks!

For resistive touchscreen, please use fingernails as it is more effective compare to your thumb and it has higher accuracy compare to capacitive.
