Video: Nokia Flagship Store Finland tour (filmed by Nokia 808 PureView)

| June 8, 2012 | 38 Replies

Take a look at the Nokia Flagship Store in Finland, tour presented by Risto Lahi.

The Nokia Store is apparently getting renovated in time for Nokia World during the summer so it might be the last time it is seen in this configuration. By then it will have the new products perhaps :) Some of the new smartphone like Asha 305, 306 and 311 and fingers crossed, some other devices eh? :p (Just wishing).

Downstairs, Risto said he was just training the Nokia store recruits about the Nokia 808 PureView, which is filming this video. During video recording I was on touch focus to begin with but then later on switched to continuous autofocus. It has its uses to switch from one to the other as you’ll see in later demoes. It’s too late for me now to get any more demoes but hopefully I’ll get my hands on the 808 another time.

have to download 1080p and watch with my sony led tv , seen one few week old video the clarity was like bluray hollywood movie

  2. Shriek says:

We sell Lumia phones…. and other nokia phones :P

  3. Jack says:

I was actually quite impressed with the audio – speech sounded natural and lacked the hollow echo sound you sometimes get when recording on a smartphone. Did you configure the audio at all or is there even an option to do so?

  4. Sefriol says:

I’m amazed. Quality is really top notch.

  5. efekt says:

Jay, can you add a download link? YouTube is annoyingly slow with this video on 1080p…

    • I recommend you install one of the Youtube video download add-ons for Firefox. (e.g. Flash Video Downloader or DownloadHelper)

That way you can always download any resolution version from Youtube. Makes life much easier. :)

  6. Quantom says:

Shaky video though. Is video stabilisation off? Hope the Nokia team managed to get it up and working.

    • Recruta says:

Well, there’s a limit for vibration control via software. If you got a hand held device with wide movements from your arms, then even a mechanical VR system will not be much of a help.

I reckon this video is pleasantly smooth and definitely up to expectations.

The ever-elusive Nokia Essense spotted at 3:18!

And then gone again :( It’s like it’s noise cancellation technology is also good at repelling any online coverage!

Which might also be why I haven’t got around to writing about my one yet.

  8. Recruta says:

I am quite pleased by the quality of this video. It seems to have been largely improved from previous samples we’ve seen. Now it’s incredibly smooth and crisp. Well done, Nokia!

Hoping it would not take too much for it to reach costumers around the globe, including us here in Brazil!

Have a good time there in Finland, Jay!

  9. Stefan says:

Great video, thank you! I plan to be one of the tourists he mentions at the end, I’m planning a trip to Helsinki in September.

By the way, does anyone here know more about visiting Nokia House in Espoo? Is there anything to see or do when you come there unannounced as a tourist or won’t they even let you inside?

    • Merja P. says:

Stefan: As far as I know, you cannot just walk in to the Big House as a tourist. I have heard that they have a tourist shop in the lobby area and that shop is the only place you are allowed to go inside the house as tourist. The general rule is that if you wanna really visit the House, you have to agree on a visit with them. That’s the way I got to be there, Nokia arranged a sign up on their Facebook page that stated: 60 people that sign up online form first get to come and see Nokia’s Headquarters. I was fast and lucky ;)

      • Stefan says:

@Merja: Thank you for your reply. I already thought so/feared as much, after all, Nokia House is a place of business. But I do hope they’ll do that Facebook sign-up thing again soon, ideally for a visit in September. :)

Video stabilization issues somewhat. And Finns are really tall.

  11. Ibrahim says:

i dont see any N9 in Finland store..

  12. eli says:

Yea, the quality is there but it terribly needs some sort of video stablization

  13. Viipottaja says:

Did they not let you in the small Vertu store/sectio at the back? :p Or perhaps they have closed it already.

  14. deep space bar says:

yesss force windows phone on your long term users….f you elop ….and f you again

for killing symbian and mkaing s40 looking like it

  15. shallow ocean shoal says:

When will that ‘very popular’ DC-16 cyan charger be released in America?!?

  16. steelicon says:

Nokia 808 PureView RM-807 probably could use this in another form.

  17. Marco says:

I would buy lots of stuff there. Hope my next travel goes to Scandinavia.
