Gallery: Red Nokia 808 PureView and Finnish Nokia Social Media Girls

| June 9, 2012 | 42 Replies

Here’s a large gallery with some pretty pictures of the Red Nokia 808 PureView, some in the hands of the Nokia Social Media girls. These weren’t set up, i.e. I didn’t hand them the 808 to take photos of them. They were just using it at the time and I thought it would make a nice photo. They’re more sneaky shots actually.

I don’t know what it is, but the 808 looks even better in their hands. This is Elina, the extra pair of hands seen in the Nokia 808 PureView unboxing the other day.

This is Elisa, her fingernails match the 808! I think this shot was taken by Vilja.

Anyway, as an accompaniment, here’s the Red 808 also in the usual table shots. They don’t look so nice in my hands by comparison.

What about apps? Urg. This is what makes me mad :/ lol
DrawSomething – Instagram – Temple Run and many more lesser none apps.

personally, i don’t like instagram. Its not useless however, its a good tool to excuse bad photography.

All time great photos were taken without instagram.

      • Mathew says:

For me, it’s not about the editing features, but about sharing your photo with the community.

        • fireice2 says:

Good point. However, doesn’t the 808 have an upload to FB or twitter feature?

          • Mathew says:

Yes, of course. But I’ve deactivated my FB and Twitter is more of a text site with occasional photos. I mean, I’m still considering the 808, but I just want to be sure I’m spending money on something I really want.

I look at the back cover and I wonder if there could easily be a third party cover with either a larger battery or one with built-in wireless charging circuitry. I wish they would continue to some test ideas with it.

Just popped by a nearby Nokia Store in my hometown (Malaysia) after lunch and spotted the 808 (black) on display there (the actual unit, not a dummy). The attendant told me that it is the only unit available and it’s RRP is MYR RM 1,899.

In terms of size, it is slightly smaller than the Lumia 800 but it does feel comfortable in the hand. One thing to note is that your fingers might end up touching the camera ‘hump’ depending on how you hold the phone (luckily the phone on display was wrapped in plastic).

The bad thing is that the package only includes the usual charger, USB cable and earphones. Other accessories like the phone case aren’t available yet.
