I'm rooting for all the OS's with tiny market-share (WP8 included).

To be honest camera and Gui is way better than Lumia. And Gui does not make the quality of a photo which is something better than my Nikon D90 in most of the cases. I have spent 1200 euros on my Nikon D90 with optics and it's huge. I can't think how great the 808is regarding this. Else is that the 808 is very smooth has good browser and including as usual alternative browser Opera 12. Everything works fine. I can watch 1080P movies from all kind, then also on HD TV on hdmi. It's also a very good phone. It puts to shame the iPhones and Samsung Galaxys who are out of range (I tested against an iPhone 4S and SGS2) when I can still make or receive calls.

However the 808 is sold about everywhere in my country and is a gigantic failure. The salesman of a huge company with plenty of stores all over the country and a web site told me they sold only 3 808 in a week. All the phone companies stay away from Nokia and especially Symbian can't be sold with any subsidy. They retrieved all existing Symbian applications to their services (like TV) which you still pay for in any data plan. It is said Nokia have to give away close to for free its Lumia Phones to have them subsidised by the phone companies.
So nobody buys Symbian anymore whatever they are able to do better than the other. You are even considered unaware and out of the touch with a Nokia. It's not good for your professional look to be seen with a Nokia. Everybody asks for Samsung Galaxy S3 in this range of prices, even at full price or waits for the iPhone 5. Even worse for Nokia, is the fact that the Lumia line including 900 stopped selling for good because people know they won't get WP8.

From here it looks like Nokia is finished. When someone sees you with a Nokia smartphone they laugh at you if you're a friend or look wary at you, like you're a 20th century man. They don't even bother if you use a cheap ZTE as long as it is not a Nokia.
Using a Nokia is like driving an old 15 year old car or a brand new Lada. It is wrong but it is like it looks.

So I think I am the glad owner of one of the last Nokia smartphones. I don't care what people think about Nokia and Symbian. I will never buy a Nokia with a closed system like WP8. I will even stay away from Google controlled Android as long as possible. Last hope for secure independent OS is RIM.

bud, miller and coors dominate every store here, but the good grocery stores have a lot of imports and micro brews available now which is really nice. plus the liquor stores are starting to sell better beers as well, however, finding any Jelen Pivo is pretty much impossibly unless you go to one of Chicago's massive liquor stores. Slivo is plentiful here though ;)

Seeing as I already have an N8, i wasn't planning on getting the 808, but the camera is just too good to pass up. It would replace my compact and serve well for traveling and bars, parties, etc... Besides, you know they wont put that big of a sensor into the Lumia PureView as to not make it too bulky.

That is really the big question, is it just coming in through Amazon and the like or will a carrier like T-Mobile be involved, here in the states it really makes a difference, unfortunately.

Such a shame that avg. American do have to go through loops n' bonds to get a half-decent beer. Miller, Bud and the likes overrun the market and pushed out everything that was decent there, and unless you find a specialty shop or a small (and good) family brewery near you, you're pretty much sentenced to drink dog piss...

As for the 808, it is an engineering marvel but I really have no use for it, and gifting money to Nokia after all of this seems counter-productive to me. It is not as if they'll be either saved or revert their course if a handful of us, technophiles, buy the 808PV.

Yeah, Nokia was losing market share long time before the burning platform memo. You were referring to that one?

Now if Symbian was substandard before the Belle was introduced why wouldn't they have lost market share?

Just look at the graph. The burning platform memo had very little effect on the Symbian sales. Nokia was collapsing long before that.
