Official WP Twitter App Gets Updates, Now Supports Notifications.
It’s no secret that the official Twitter app for WP kinda sucked, now that’s not strictly a bad thing since it has lead to a HUGE number of great alternatives to pick up the slack (they’re aren’t as many FB WP apps since the FB app si really good, also look at Gravity for Symbian the reason it’s so awesome was someone got pissed with the crappy social apps and decided to do something about it). Well now that you have a bunch of alternatives including Twabbit, Rowi, Carbon, Mehdoh and an endless bunch of others; the official Twitter app can now be considered a “real app” as the latest update brings notifications support for DM, Mentions, RT and a couple other features; as well as a live tile that informs you of new notifications. I’m not sure what it is but I always prefer using the official app fora service rather than a workaround, is that only me?

With Twitter I was reluctant to pay for any 3rd party client due to the problems I ran into with several of them requiring repeated re-authentication while I was sending DMs. Less of a problem now, but it would still suck to pay for a client and then find it no longer works.
Well, I’m using gleek right now as a favoured alternative. I’m not sure how the “offical” version can actually top this one.
Random question, does anybody know any good alternative Facebook client?

WOw, The notifications on this app are instant. No other app comes even close. I suggest you guys to download it and activate the notifications option. Even if you ain’t going to use it for much else, at least you’ll get instant notifications which no other WP twitter client can do yet
