T3 is conducting an online award event in which Nokia Lumia 900 is nominated.It’s been nominated in two categories:

There are other phones like iPhone 4S, HTC One, Sony xperia S,etc in the competition, so definitely it’s gonna be a tougher one for L900 in both categories.

My thoughts: I feel bad for Nokia N9 is not in the nominees at least it should be in the Best design category.

Have you actually used the UI and beyond the start screen?
Then again, perhaps it is the 2 year olds who give it such high ratings in user satisfaction surveys.
Just because you may not like the looks does not necessarily make it a bad UI/UX.
I wouldn’t like to be negative but do you remember N9 has WON the ranking “the best on consumer satisfaction”? It is not only about shape, Lumia use N9 shape and OK. But this is about spirit and feel, about internals, about that something undefined what make you like THIS girl and not any other. N9 has got this something. Something what make us to want it. That is Nokia attractiveness. Sorry for your candidate to be “ugly girl”, an esthetic medicine scalpel can make miracles…….. (Don’t take this to serious, please – read the sense between words)
You’re an embarrassment to N9 owners/users/enthusiasts.
It won’t be higher, with the big drop in resources in the last 16mth (esp. the last 9) Harmattan’s simply not as polished as it would’ve been.
The team “as it is now”, is but a tiny percentage of what it was 16mth ago.
I know this having spoken to a former lead who still has connections within the project.
Don’t know the latest exact figures, haven’t check in about 4mth+, & probably wouldn’t share them if I did.
But last time around percentage-wise, it was already fast heading past 85%.

Having said that…
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a high satisfaction rating for heavy tinkerers.
Folks who don’t care if things break when they try to mod/hack things heaps, just so long as they can to a high degree.
It just won’t appeal in the same way to the every person, which matters much more for success ofc.
It’s once you get past the start screen that WP’s UI falls apart IME but anyhoo.

Difficult, L900 looks nice, but wastes a lot of space. I have always thought iPhone design is ‘meh’. Haven’t really used them all enough to judge which one is best overall.

i wonder what kind of marketing is needed to reverse this kind of things? Perhaps a live demonstration of elop being beheaded? But then again the blood thirsty anti nokia crowd will never stop.

Yeah, I don’t get those people at all. They vote the other manufacturer’s device instead of Nokia’s device just to show how much they didn’t like the latter when they could have just abstained. Even in politics it happens as well when you have both candidates you don’t like but vote for the first to spite the second due to disliking the second guy’s party platform and what it stood for. It’s like they’re addicted to voting or something when they can’t even abstain from it.

The Lumia 900 ist too meh. Why should I vote for it? I’m too old to be a fanatic who votes for everything his favorite brand releases, no matter how bad it is.
Id vote for the Lumia 800 but the 900 is ugly and poorly designed – just a rip off of the N9, it doesnt work.
Hmmmm no Qt? Nokia has decided not to have any more coding in future? I feel I am lost more and more…… WTF?
