Nokia: Whatsapp for Windows phone to “be available within 48 hours”
A few days back there was an unannounced removal of WhatsApp for Windows phone from the Marketplace. Nokia Netherlands has confirmed that the sudden disappearance was due to a committed upgrade to a newer version and removing bugs and issues.
When WhatsApp initially disappeared from the Marketplace, the team clarified:
“There is no security issue in the application due to which it is removed and app is still available for the users which have WhatsApp already installed on their windows phone devices, it’s attributes are private currently”.
According to Nokia new version should be available in Marketplace within 48 hours. Nokia assures that this information is totally correct as its based on internal backgrounds.
We haven’t received the confirmation from WhatsApp yet, but it sounds like good news for Windows Phone users.
Michael: There are also rumours floating around that a huge update is coming for WP8. The removal may be related to that.

Owh
so my conclusion is that nokia didn’t bother to contact whatsapp to release a N9 version
That’s ok, we have one already
Wazapp is very good.
waiting for file transfer support
plus group name and info
huhuhu
And that surprises you? They barely lift a finger nowadays (increasingly so for 9mth+ now) to support Harmattan.
I have a contact at Nokia whom I’ll be reaching out to soon to determine if he can set-up an agreement with tglal/Nokia/Whatsapp.
I doubt anything will happen, but at least I finally (for mths he ignored my tweets) got a response from the former head of meego apps, who then gave me this person’s details.
Whatsapp is back.
