Nokia Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 leaked? (Update, no it isn’t)

| August 17, 2012 | 27 Replies

There we go, it makes another appearance but now with a name. The Nokia Lumia 820. Hopefully it is this bright red and not just the camera making it look that way.

The new Windows 8 logo is set at the bottom, similar design to the 900 just slightly slimmer.

Is it me or does the flat screen seem to be raised, i.e. no raised edge like the 900?

Update: It’s just a photorealistic render by Jonas whom we’ve featured a few times in MyDreamNokia. Yeah he’s that good.

Looks good, seems thinner than the 900 hopefully it’s in 4.7-5″ range and hopefully that FFC is decent (720p please!!!)

    Looks Hot

Sorry for the misinformation, this one seems to be a render after all:

  5. M says:

Wonder how many colors they settle on and it seems to have a FFC. Also, flat with no bezel.

^^^It kinda reminds me of this

I’d like a red Nokia. A True Red device. N8 had the very deceiving orange and then the N9 did the same with magenta. I’d even take a red case for the n9 if someone did it correctly. Can’t really beat OEM cases though.

    • Janne says:

Just a side comment: Doesn’t Nokia have a red (not magenta) silicone cover for at least the Lumia 800, if not for the N9? That would at least physically fit the N9.

  7. Diogo says:

    No pureview!

  8. deep space bar says:

nothing special….they need a new design the N9 design is getting old already >.>…it’s been too over used in just short little time which wasn’t a smart move

Google warns Android developers today not to copy the Windows phone elegant app look. Instead they should keep it how???

    • Dave says:

What freaking nonsense. Half the Lumia line are unique designs (610, 710), and the other half (*TWO* devices) use evolutions of a highly acclaimed beautiful design that everybody seems to like. It’s not like everyone has one already, so why the hell would they not evolve that design further, in addition to some uniquely different designs, like they have been doing all along.

Ah that’s right, because you’re running out of things to bitch about so now we’re down to this. Next complaint will be about Ashas being called smartphones (boohoo).

  9. Nokialover says:

HATERS! WHERES THIS SHIT LOOKS LIKE THE GALAXY S3?

    • JGrove says:

Whoa, brother! Chillax. No one is spreading that smear in this thread.

I’ll maintain, this render looks as dope as soap on a rope.

he’s the troll the flooded this site with the glaxy s 3 comments this weeks. ignore him
i love the design, but the Nokia font seems to small. other than that i would take this phone in a heartbeat. the size of the 800 with a 4 inch screen, yummy.
i do have one complaint, they could have put qhd resolution in the suported resolutions. specially for the 4 inch screens. but i guess you can’t have it all

  10. LaW says:

looks like the render has used the leaked ront of the unkown 4inch screen w8 device likely coming. Im thinking the once rounded 7xx devices will have aq successor in a more squarish form like in the render here at (4inch size). And the current square lumia 8xx or 9xx have changed to rounded form as leaked in the 4.3inch nokia front screen panel a few days back. I believe there will be 3 W8 devices, one 7xx successor and possibly 2 8xx or MAYBE one 6xx series, one 7xx and the ‘phi’ being the 8xx series succesor. Who knows, come on sep 5!!

    • Janne says:

So you are thinking they won’t release a 900 range device this fall? I think that would be a mistake and leave people waiting for something better.

I’d prefer they release replacements for 710, 800 and 900, all of them. Lumia 710 needs an upgrade because of its aging design, 800 and 900 for obvious reasons.

Lumia 610 can continue soldiering on with WP 7.8 for some time more.

  11. Janne says:

I’m hoping this render is close to the real thing. There are a lot of people who like the N9/Lumia 800/900 unibody design, but perhaps have held back from bying those devices yet, so Nokia needs to have something for those in the WP8 line-up as well.

I think the speculated Lumia 820 name would sound good too, maybe leaving room for a 920 with something new design-wise. And red – yes please!

  12. Prasenjit Bist says:

of late it seems some samsung paid trolls have infected the blog only a lunatic and idiot will say the lumia 800/900 series design looks like galaxy… It seems android users are fucking weird loosers and stupid. I am sorry for the language but i can not pretend to be cool and nice to all this the blog owner guys sud take some note of this and filtet out comments..

Next, this design seems to be true as there are apparently 2 same designs one supposed for us and other for row. Anf the way they r evolving this design is admirable.
But isn’t nokia supposed to get a 950/e7 class design too.
It seems to me the US announcement is abt us carrier devices atlst 2 and the other helsenki event for row models….
Real exciting times… nokia’ s new services offering including the map platform based r going to be one of the draws… Also exciting wud be announcements related to windows7.8 upgrade.. Frankly speaking for majority 7.8 deviced wud b great buy or upgrade … As against wat some people have been posting for past few weeks as apart from thd hardware related enhancements almost everything comes to first gen phones and folks a consumer wud care fou experience design and brand not which kernel or app frame work it runs on…

Also expect the devicew to hit shelves within weeks from announcement in larger markets than prev launches bt still there wil b a pattern of launches…. But those missing out wil see strong 7.8 push.

So, the exciting times are all set to begin the greatestncome back of all times….
