I bought my 920 on November 9 (release date) in Houston, Texas. First ATT store (downtown location) had sold out two minutes after opening. After work, went to a second ATT store that showed "limited stock." Spoke with rep and he said they received 20 phones in red, white and black, and only had 3 black left.

Rep said there was traffic for the new Nokia phones, but they hadn't sold a single HTC. He said the 920 had outsold everything else in the store for the day.

Great deal and terrific phone. My girlfriend, who has had several Androids, wants the phone and is disappointed her carrier (Verizon) isn't offering it.

Went to my local AT&T store in Raleigh Friday morning of the launch. They only had about 10 each of red, white and black. Never even received the yellow or cyan. Adding insult to injury, a Nokia rep happened to drop by the store while I was ordering mine to be shipped. Even he couldn't explain why no cyans and yellows were shipped. They did a check of every AT&T store in the Raleigh market and none of them received the full line of colors. Embarassing launch plan if you ask me.

Seems like every store has in stock between 5-120 L920. Also seems like the customers have largely emptied the stocks by preordering the phones, which means we have no clue how much has been sold so far, and how much of the customers has been redirected to order a phone from the AT&T website

The difference is, nobody wanted N8 anyway. I got it free as a workphone but refused to use it and bought an iPhone 4 with my own money instead. Now it's a bit different, I would refuse to use iPhone 5 and bought Lumia 920 with my own money
