Windows Phone Lenses, Smartshoot and Cinemegraph to Come to WP 7.8 devices?
David Akinjise, Product Manager at Nokia let it slip that the WP8 feature “lenses” which gives apps direct access to the camera API, as well as the two lumia exclusive camera features “Cinemagraph” and “SmartShoot” will be coming to first gen Lumia devices in WP 7.8. This keeps making this upcoming update better and better.
Paired alongside the rumor that there will be additional updates to come after WP 7.8; it would seem as if the original Lumias aren’t going to be left too far behind.
Edit: After taking a look at the official Nokia release Cinemegraph and Smartshot are confirmed for WP7.8 , along with “additional Surprises” which I assume will be the lenses feature.
We will also bring Cinemagraph and updates to Smart Group Shot to the existing Lumia devices with some additional surprises to make photo shooting and sharing as easy as possible.

It was already mentioned in the 920/820 launch and also mentioned several times since then that these two apps will come to 7.8. Now, I am wondering, someone took Nokia Manager’s comments out of context and translating it into lenses coming to WP 7.x.
this good for two sides, consumers & marketing.
Should that be true, would that make apps which use the 7.8 Lens be compatible with Lens in WP8? Should help a lot with the compatibility especially when both WP7.8 and 8 have them.
Just hope that it is possible.
I want City Lens. The rest of it… meh.
City lens is already available, I have it on my 900 right now.
I just saw that in the list. I guess it took them a while to get it out and available to Canadian users.
