Video: Instagram for Windows Phone; Via Metrogram
One of the major obstacles blocking Windows Phone’s success is the lack of the uber-popular photo sharing social network, Instagram. Love it or hate it, people use it; and I know several people who were interested in the Lumia but stopped the moment they heard there is no Instagram for it. So until Instagram get their act together (and accept the ridiculous amount of money Microsoft have probably offered them) then it’s up to 3rd party developers to make semi-working apps for Instagram (just like Meego with Instago).
The solution for Windows Phone (both 7 & 8) comes in the form of Metrogram, a 3rd party reader and semi-publisher client for Instagram, that can view, like, comment, follow, unfollow and do jus tabout everything Instagram on iOS and android can; except for uploading new pictures :/ . But it is a start.

Begrudgingly true, Instagram is a must have app. Why they haven’t developed the Window Phone version is beyond me. Is it a Google partner?

That’s something which boggles me. Doesn’t MS have quite good relationship with facebook?
IIRC, MS owns 1% only of FB. Of course, its a better relationship than with Google, for example.
I hadn’t followed up on anything about it previous to this comment, only hearing people fawn over the app.
However, I just learned that Instagram started on iOS exclusively and only just became available to Android users in April.The App will remain mostly unchanged under Facebook’s ownership and that there are about 13 people who work on Instagram.
So, with all that said, considering Windows Phone 7.5 was hardly a blip on the mobile scene even back in April, I can only infer that Instagram could not be bothered before.
Now, with Windows Phone 8 on the rise and 7.8 releasing on Nokias, they may have reason enough to build the App for WP, even without Microsoft’s intervention. The payout of ad revenue must be greater than cost of development, naturally, over a relatively short period of time.
I too thing it is a stupid, but I would like the WP ecosystem to grow. So, I would even push for Instagram for WP

I think the WP users should say welcome to instagram instead.
We need to wait for “Official” WP8 sales numbers before full of sh** developers start developing WP8 versions of their apps. It seems most people besides WP8 fans/owners are in complete denial of Lumia/WP8′s growing success. . .

It’s a social networking site based on images uploaded by users. Though you can load them raw, the big deal is applying their filters and effects before posting to share.
The thing that most of us uppity self proclaimed mobile photographers disliked about it, is that it makes your hard work taking awesome shots with your N8/808/(bitchen camera here) look like over produced Shiite. Where as the folks with lesser cameras (iPhones/Androids/$50 P&S) look awesome, for a Polaroid, or if you are a tight-pants beer-crawling fixie-riding LoFi-listening hipster scumbag living off of mommy & daddy’s money while looking as hobo as possible.
Flickr is a much greater experience for us, born to get hard with proper technique.

Using Instagram doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t post unless you apply filter to your photos. Like me, I have an 808 PureView and I export my photos to my iDevice and post them without any filter applied but I make sure I put the hastags #Nokia808 #PureView. Clicking on those hastags shows more incredible photos from other PureView owners. Many were even posting comments about how ridiculously awesome the PureView camera is. It’s such a shame that the best cameraphones (808 & L920) don’t have IG. WP needs IG to make the ecosystem a hospitable place for guys like me who like being social (lol) and feeling popular whenever we get at least 50 likes for every photo posted lol
