Sprint Finally Joins the Windows Phone Train; Lists WP8 As “Coming Soon”

| January 6, 2013 | 11 Replies

With Verizon’s adoption of the Lumia 820 and the HTC 8X a couple months back that left Sprint as the only one of the large 4 carriers that didn’t have a Windows Phone device on sale. Apparently that is changing soon, seeing how Sprint have put up a page titles “Learn more About Windows Phone 8″ with the simple caption”Windows Phone 8 is Coming soon”. Curious timing of course seeing how CES has just kicked off; perhaps we’ll see a new variant of the 820 heading to Sprint? Or maybe even a yellow 920 to match their logo?

Although initial reports claimed that Nokia wouldn’t be at CES this year it appears they have a couple booths set up and are giving out Demos and freebies, so if anyone is around stop by and snap a couple pics!

Even though i’m not from the us i just hate sprint ..dont know why!.. :D

  • viipottaja

Here’s to hoping one of them is a Nokia!

low end phones i bet. 620 and maybe the htc 8s. maybe the 820.

    • viipottaja

Hope 620 won’t get wasted on Sprint. Would much rather see it on one of the top carriers instead.

the 620 on verizon and at&t would probably be offered for free because the low prices of the 820 and 822. so it will probably land on sprint for 50 dollars. i’m not from america but it’s my perception that sprint has mostly mid range and low end devices with a few high end thrown in there for good measure. so a device like the 620 that isn’t carried by the others would be a good offer for them. we’ll see at c.e.s.. it’s a good event to announce a new lumia for the us on a new carrier.

OR it could be that huawei device and no nokia. and that would suck for nokia. they need as much diversity as possible in the us

Didn’t AT&T get 6 months exclusive deal for 920? It’s ending soon so we might see 920 coming to other carriers aswell.

it was just a rumour. i don’t think other carriers will have it in the us. by the time they will have they will have to put it on a 50 dollar price tag. that means it will have big subsidy for them so i don’t think they will do it for a older device

      • viktor von d.

but other phones from nokia yeah. that full pureview phone is gotta land somewhere plus whatever else they have in the pipeline

        • Sefriol

I remember seeing ATT training video that said it would be exclusive for them about 6 months. Of course it doesn’t mean anything, but just a thought.
Luckily we don’t have that kind of exclusive deals in Finland. Just choose the carrier you want and go with it.
