Video: Unannounced Slim Lumia appears in Nokia Lumia 920 Promo from KPN Netherlands?
It was a futile attempt to get any sleep prior to a day of doing Nokia stuff. So let’s blog 
Here’s a nice little love story of sorts from KPN Netherlands, starring the one and only Nokia Lumia 920 in yellow and black. The kid seems to be infatuated with the girl above (even making sort of creepy sculptures of her)
The thing is, these are 920s right?
What’s this? It’s got curvy edges. It’s not a 620 or a 820 or a 610 or a 710.
The back resembles a 822 except the headphone jack seems to be different and the phone looks to be as slim as the headphone jack itself.
Maybe I didn’t get enough sleep and have forgotten the obvious Lumia.
It seems to be slim and tapered on the side…
It looks like a 822 but that’s just for Verizon right? And again, note the little bump for the headphones.
The thing is, this phone she’s using isn’t even meant to be this random lumia. It’s meant to be the 920.

Lumia 720
My heart skipped a beat thinking I forgot about that phone…haha.

But of course it isn’t 505 (WP8 and all the small details are different), but maybe this is the rumoured Lumia 5XX WP8-device?

I’m from the Netherlands and I noticed the same thing when I was standing really close to the television yesterday. The ad it running for a few weeks now and I didnt see it before so i thought it must have been some soft light conditions or something.
KPN is a partner of Nokia and is doing a lot of promotion for the phone. Funny thing is: there are almost no Lumia 920′s available here. Some pre orders from november have been pushed back to march. I work at The Phonehouse and our shop got 1 Lumia 920 since its launch in January. Checking the inventory tells me there are just 5-10 L920′s in all the 200 shops combined.

I would agree. From the front, the phone has square/sharp corners, then when they show the phone from the back, the corners are rounded.
I think it’s a video commercial production error

Personally, I don’t think WP looks that good on a phone with curved corners, and I’m not particularly digging this design… it looks like an old Motorola. Maybe it would look better in reality, who knows?
Yeah, I’m not a big fan of rounded corners on WP phones. I’d like to see a new WP8 Lumia inside the L800 body. Perhaps with dual core, 1GB ram and 32gb storage if they can’t incorporate an SD slot. The fabula design is, well, fabulous, and I would really like Nokia to keep pushing out phones with updated specs using the design.

520 wont be having a flash, so has to be 720.
looks good has to be slim and lightweight.
It does seem fairly big, around the Lumia 920 size or even bigger (although slimmer), so my guess would be it is not any mid-range Lumia (e.g. future 720). The different position of headphone rules out a Lumia 920 with a case, as does the flat back.
Lumia 922 for Verizon could make sense (perhaps with interchangeable covers, maybe this particular unit without fatter wireless charging covers), as would some other new high-end Lumia model.
How such a thing would have ended up in a commercial footage featuring the Lumia 920 does seem odd, though, unless they filmed the material for both phones at the same time and/or the mix-up was intentional.
The phone seems fairly long to me. I wonder if it has a 720p 16:9 screen.
Weird. The phone in the video also looks a bit manipulated. There seems to be some yellow color bleed at the edges of the phone. As if its color or even its shape has been altered afterwards. Or maybe they just highlighted her phone a bit in that video, so it’s more easy to spot.
It wouldn’t surprise me if at the time of recording they didn’t have a yellow 920 and just used some other phone
They still haven’t delivered my yellow 920, which has been on order since last December…
The material/finish of the mystery phone is clearly different compared to Lumia 920 in the video… that could explain the color bleed.
Different materials shouldn’t give such bleed. Unless it’s the video encoding process that introduced it. It really looks like someone recolored that phone.
What’s also weird that she later holds a normal 920. This makes me think the footage was shot over multiple days (weeks). And at the time they shot that weird phone they didn’t have a yellow 920. Maybe they shot footage for multiple commercials and then interchanged them?
Dutch news site NU.nl has gotten an official statement from Nokia. They say it isn’t a Nokia phone(!) and they point to KPN. KPN themselves say they’re investigating…
That would support your theory of post-processing to make some other phone look (roughly) like a Lumia 920…
My guess, it’s the Lumia 720, which will be the third phone in their WP lineup to include a Carl Zeiss lens. If Nokia prices this correctly it will definitely be a game changing device within the mid-range smartphone category.
More importantly, glad the dude dropped the obsession with the blondine and switched to the much cuter brunette!
Well, that blondie was an utter prick anyway. Pretending to be interested while hiding the fact that she already have a boyfriend. :p
