Windows Phone Gift Card

One of the most irritating things about the Windows Phone marketplace (besides the missing apps) is the fact that your purchase options are VERY limited, Paypal is only supported in a few countries, and I’m not even sure if carrier billing is an option. Even worse is the fact that there *was* no such thing as a “gift card” well hopefully that’s all about to change as according to The Verge Microsoft will be introducing a new gift card system instead of their Microsoft points.

The cards can be used to purchase Windows/Windows Phone apps, Music and Media content, and other goodies.

The new system will work across Microsoft’s various marketplaces, including the Windows Store, Windows Phone Store, and Xbox. We understand that Microsoft is planning to unveil the system as soon as E3, with a planned launch later this year in time for the next-generation Xbox console.
