Over 50 million Lumias activated, 320,000 apps, 560,000 WP devs

According to WMPU’s numbers from MS, there are over 50 million activated Lumias. Possibly a couple million more if we include all WPs then?
There are also said to be 320K apps in the WP store but even more WP devs (560,000). How did they get the latter numbers? Are those people like myselves on the developer preview who aren’t actually developers.
