Screen Shot 2014-12-18 at 17.05.42Nokia’s music services evolved into the relatively popular MixRadio. But as part of Microsoft, it may have had some clashes with XboxMusic. There’s been discussions since August that MixRadio will be spun off as an independent entity to let it continue as a service.

Today, we hear that LINE has purchased MixRadio from Microsoft.  LINE is known as a free call and messages service.

MixRadio will remain on Lumia. We’ve previously reported that MixRadio is already available outside of Lumia and has been seen on wearables.

This deal is expected to be completed in Early 2015.
