What is the key to Lumia’s success? If you strayed, what will make you come back?

It’s been so long since the last Lumia flagship. Microsoft has been concentrating on other things, cloud first, mobile first, switching things to Windows 10 for desktop/tablets and phones. In a few weeks we’ll see the latest and greatest but will that still interest those that left the platform?

The render above of the 950 XL has been circulating around and it honestly looks a lot better than the previous renders. It doesn’t look super chunky. But even if it were the most beautiful phone ever (I’d award that currently to the phone next to me, my Edge Plus) would Windows 10 Mobile cut it? Could it work as advertised? Will it fill in the app gap more? What would make you come back?

For me, perhaps I’d be enticed by another epic camera beast like the 1020/808. Highly unlikely and this is meant to come with 20mp. Not all about the MP of course. My Edge plus actually can take decent photos most of the time now and for the size/speed/reliability it’s actually quite alright (I desperately miss fantasia painter – only on WP as well as 6tag).

The pinning of things on the homescreen like playlists/destinations I really do miss but not sure if that’s enough to make me want to switch back. Perhaps the whole experience combined will obviously be more than the sum of her parts and I could switch back. I did temporarily to the 1520 on W10 until it became too buggy.
